Your Monday Funny: Canada? Really?

“Dumb” is not a word I like. In fact, I don’t like name-calling at all, although I admit to using this tactic on occasion when I am unable to suppress my anger. I’ve been working on it for a lifetime.

The word “dumb” just feels worse than any four-letter word I can think of. It brings to mind a person who is a complete dullard, without average intelligence or a single redeeming quality. That said, I have a question: “how dumb is Donald Trump?”

One issue he won’t leave alone really bugs me. If he doesn’t understand that what he wants is virtually impossible, all of his brain cells must have committed suicide.

If you ask any Canadien if they would prefer to be a citizen of the United States, 999 out of 1000 would say “no.”

I have a cousin who was born in Spokane, Washington. She met a man when she was a young woman who was a Canadien. They fell in love and moved to Canada where they raised a family. Both she and her husband were schoolteachers. When they retired, they purchased a bed and breakfast on Lake Ontario. When her husband passed, she remained in Canada until the bed and breakfast was sold. She is a year and a half younger than me, and eventually moved back to Spokane to be nearer to her brothers and sisters.

She often told me that she would never move away from Canada for many reasons, the most important being healthcare. The disease which took her husband’s life required treatment which would have cost hundreds of thousands of dollars in America. However, they never paid a penny in hospital bills or doctor’s fees. America remains the only country in the world without universal healthcare. In fact, ours is the most expensive healthcare “system” in the world, and unless you are wealthy, you will never have access to the best facilities or the best doctors.

My wife wants to move to Canada, and made that request long before Trump’s second illegitimate election. Many Americans are considering an exit from Trump’s “America.” However, many countries don’t want us there, and I can’t blame them.

The United States is the only nation in the world which is gun crazy. Statistics prove that America is the most dangerous in the world. With more mass shootings than days on the calendar, and an 800 percent increase in hate crimes since 2017, it’s not safe to leave our homes.

Our government is both incompetent and corrupt. They lie to us constantly while ignoring our needs and wishes.

With Trump and Musk in charge, fascism has replaced democracy. The Constitution has been used as toilet paper by the obese old white man as he sits on the toilet sending messages to his cult on his failing Truth Social.

Inflation is making life more difficult for low-income families and seniors like me and my wife. Although Trump’s primary issue in the 2024 election was ending inflation, he is now telling his voters that he cannot or will not find a solution for the very serious problem. His heavily criticized tariff will force consumers to pay more for everything in the near future.

As the cost of living continues to grow, the American dream is fading away for most Americans as quickly as the sun disappears behind the clouds on a winter’s day.

Probably the worst of America is the fact that no one in power, in positions of authority, can be trusted or respected in the 21st century. I no longer trust anyone in Washington, anyone in law enforcement, especially in our courts, our military leaders, not even religious leaders, especially Evangelicals. Trust and respect cannot be freely given, they must be earned, and none of the above groups have proven that they deserve such precious gifts.

Maybe Trump should move to Canada and leave us alone. But that wouldn’t work. Canadiens have a well-deserved reputation for kindness and being nice. Trump wouldn’t last 10 minutes in any Canadian province.

The old man has lost what was left of his mind. I suggest all of you watch an old movie called "Canadian Bacon." This is Trump.
