ICE Prison Guards Mimic Nazis in Auschwitz-Like Florida Concentration Camps
Op-ed by TheWiseOldFart
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is a Nazi. He is proud of his
concentration camp built in the middle of the Florida Everglades. He gave it what
he thought was a clever name, “Alligator Alcatraz.” This is what people who
hate America are willing to do to innocent men, women, and children who are
guilty of nothing more than seeking a better life, not unlike the early
settlers who arrived from Western Europe in the 1500’s and 1600’s.
[The 92-page report, “‘You Feel Like Your Life is Over’:
Abusive Practices at Three Florida Immigration Detention Centers Since January
2025,” was released this week by Americans for Immigrant Justice, Human Rights
Watch and Sanctuary of the South. It alleges widespread mistreatment of
migrants detained at the Krome North Service Processing Center, Broward
Transitional Center and the Federal Detention Center in Miami.]
There is no denying the fact that Trump’s personal gestapo, hiding
their faces behind masks and calling themselves “ICE,” are nothing more than
descendants of prison guards torturing Jews in Auschwitz and other German concentration
camps in the 1930’s and 1940’s and in other occupied nations.
DeSantis is proud to have three concentration camps in his
state. Abuses and even torture have been reported at all three facilities.
[Migrants at a Miami immigration jail were shackled with
their hands tied behind their backs and made to kneel to eat food from
styrofoam plates “like dogs”, according to a report published on Monday into
conditions at three overcrowded south Florida facilities.]
This is how Trump is “Making America Great Again.” The term
is “ethnic cleansing.”
If this is America’s future under Fuhrer Donald Trump, I
will renounce my citizenship today. This is not the nation in which I was
raised. I believed in the principles, morals, and compassion for others taught when
I was raised in Los Angeles in the 1950’s and 1960’s.
I will admit that until 1962, after I turned 16, I knew
little about America, and even less about how widespread prejudice was across
America. I watched television news, and saw what was happening in the Deep
South, but never imagined that just a few miles away from my home, young men
and women who were Black, Hispanic, or Asian were treated so differently than I
had been during my formative years.
However, in 1962, my mother allowed me to leave my Catholic
High School and attend a public school, Venice High, and my education began in
earnest.
Not only were the classes coed, I made new friends who were
Black, Hispanic, Jewish, and Asian. I learned from each of them that America
had many problems, problems the media refused to discuss or even expose.
My Black friends taught me about the “two Americas.” I had
grown up in one; they in another. Young Hispanic men and women felt they were
considered less than human by many whites. Jewish boys and girls were called
names like “kikes,” and “Jesus killers.” My Asian-American friends were ostracized
because of WWII. Some had relatives who were held in Japanese internment camps
during the War. Each of them had legitimate complaints: real stories about real
life in America.
From my first month in Venice High until 2017, I had faith
that the men and women in Washington who were good people, and true patriots
would eventually control our nation’s future. Forgive me: I was young a too
idealistic.
The truth is that Trump and the Supreme Court of the United
States offer irrefutable proof that our nation’s government is the most corrupt
and incompetent in the world. If there is one thing I can tell you with
absolute confidence is that the average American cannot trust anyone with great
wealth and power. They are the enemy.
