Another “First” for Donald Trump: Lock Him Up

Op-ed by TheWiseOldFart

Donald Trump is infamous for his many “firsts.” None of them are worthy of praise. However, on Thursday, May 30, 2024, he had another moment of shame which may become his most devastating crime of all.

A jury of his peers, or in this case, “superiors,” found him guilty on all 34 counts after his so-called “hush money trial.” However, and this is not a joke, Trump will still be allowed to run for public office. Only in this f**ked up country! There is no justice in America.

THE TRUTH IS, IF THE TRIALS ARE FAIR, HE WILL BE CONVICTED OF EVERY COUNT AND EVERY CHARGE

Trump is a lifetime criminal, and with age his crimes become more destructive, and more heinous. However, with a failed justice system and corrupted Supreme Court, he could be the first convicted felon to serve as your president: not mine.

Trump’s court appearances are just beginning. I know that he is guilty of treason. I watched all three hours of the violent insurrection on January 6, 2021. I heard what he said, and I watched as his Neo-Nazi army soiled the Capitol building and attempted to murder Vice-President Pence, and Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

Trump could not exist without lies. He lied to the FBI twice, claiming that he had returned all of our nation’s classified documents he took with him on January 20, 2021. He committed the same crimes as Julius and Ethel Rosenberg, who were executed in 1954. This one violation of federal law could place him in prison for the remainder of his pitiful and useless life. He is guilty beyond a reasonable doubt before he goes to trial. The mainstream media continues to support Trump and cover everything in his life incessantly. The evidence is undeniable to anyone who can read. The only person eliminated by this fact is DJT. He chooses not to or is unable to read.

THE BIG QUESTION IS: WILL TRUMP GO TO PRISON?

On July 11, Judge Juan Merchan will inform Trump of his sentence. I believe that the orange buffoon will receive probation. No one in power or who possesses great wealth is ever fairly punished.

Another question is: “as a convicted felon, can he vote for himself in November?” The answer is “yes” unless he is in prison. The laws of the United States of America continue to fail the people. The word “freedom” is over-used and not always fair to the majority.

It was April of 1992 when I first realized that American justice is not ‘just.’ I was living in Northern Nevada. I moved from North County San Diego in 1986, and prior to that I lived in Los Angeles. I knew that racism was a huge problem in what I consider my hometown, but I was unaware of how prevalent it was in law enforcement.

UNDENIABLE PROOF OF RACISM IN THE LAPD, AND A CORRUPT LEGAL SYSTEM

In 1991 a video was released to the press. It was very difficult to watch. A 25-year-old Black man was pulled over by at least three police cars, dragged from his vehicle, and beaten viciously although he was on the ground and unable to resist.

After the officers who participated in the violent acts against Mr. King were acquitted in April of 1992, riots erupted in South Central Los Angeles.

I have never condoned any form of violence from a schoolyard brawl to a war. However, on that day, I understood the level of anger Black residents of Los Angeles felt after decades of abuse based only on racism. It was one of the saddest days of my life.

Over the following decades, I read about countless incidents across America when Black men and women were treated with excessive force by law enforcement officers. I also read about how unfairly poor Black men and women are treated in our courts, compared to white men who are middle-class and above.

TRUMP IS THE LEADER OF WHITE SUPREMACY IN AMERICA

The question now is how will this old, obese, racist, white man be treated by our legal system? After the January 6 insurrection it was clear that members of law enforcement, and our military support Trump’s fascist plans for our nation. Two Supreme Court justices are unworthy of their position after it was revealed that they support Trump. What does this say about our nation’s entire judicial system?

I ALWAYS ADMIT WHEN I AM WRONG

This morning I told my wife that history proved that Trump would not be convicted of his unforgivable violation of the law because he sought a cover-up to assist in his illegitimate victory in 2016.

I am thrilled that the jury did the right thing. This somewhat insignificant trial offers a glimmer of hope for my beloved country. I hope this is just the beginning. Trump must pay for his crimes.

Moscow Mitch McConnell’s refusal to give Trump a fair trial after a record two impeachments by the House indicated an end to justice in America ad infinitum.

Republicans have become the enemy of democracy and justice in America for one reason: they are not Republicans, they serve Trump, not the American people.
