Even Trump’s Most Avid Supporters Must be Tired of his Lies and Broken Promises
The Truth: Tariffs are Import Taxes which go into the
national Treasury. However, Consumers pay that tax when prices are raised for
commodities as importers pay more for their raw goods.
Trump Obviously Failed ‘Economics’ in Military Boarding
School. I was aware of this fact and knew that his promise to end inflation, or
more accurately, “Greedflation,” on “day one,” was a blatant lie.
Trump jokingly referred to yesterday, Wednesday, April 2,
2025, and “Liberation Day,” when his ill-advised tariffs would become a
reality.
[The new tariffs introduced by Mr. Trump on Wednesday
include a 10% universal tariff, as well as so-called reciprocal tariffs on more
than 60 countries that are trade partners with the U.S. The tariffs will be
additive, meaning that imports will face both the universal tariff of 10% plus
the specific reciprocal import levies targeting each nation.]
Trump lied and said that “eventually prices will be lowered.”
The facts and opinions of qualified economists claim the opposite. Prices on
virtually everything will continue to rise.
Experts claim: "With today's announcement, U.S. tariffs
will approach levels not seen since the Smoot-Hawley Tariff Act of 1930, which
incited a global trade war and deepened the Great Depression."
Trump issued a 34 percent tariff increase on China.
I-phones, televisions, and other electronics will experience a surge in pricing.
A 25 percent tariff on imported vehicles will reduce new
sales. Not only completed vehicles, but the parts needed to assemble them in
the United States will become far more expensive.
U.S., with China, Vietnam and Bangladesh manufacture most of
the clothing sold at Walmart and Target. Tariffs will reach 34% for China, 46%
for Vietnam and 37% for Bangladesh.
The cost of wine and spirits will rise as European Union
imports will face a reciprocal tariff of 20% while United Kingdom-made products
will face a 10% import duty.
There will be many more changes, each of which will make
life more difficult for working-class, low-income, and impoverished Americans.
Trump is not concerned about the future of 340 million American
people: Trump cares about Trump and his handler, Vladimir Putin.
