Piece by Piece, Trump’s Mask is Peeling Away
Op-ed by TheWiseOldFart
Hiding behind a mask, the “real Donald Trump” has been
hidden from his supporters. I know who and what he is and is not. Redeeming
qualities are not in the discission.
Just weeks ago, Trump was arrogant and smug. He and
President Biden were virtually tied in the polls, and the press allowed him to
attack Mr. Biden for his age, without admitting that he is just three years
younger.
However, on July 21, 2024, the President ended his campaign.
Kamala Harris became the presumptive nominee. At this very moment, Trump’s mask
began to peel away, little by little.
THE REAL DONALD TRUMP IS PEEKING OUT FROM UNDER THE FAÇADE
Trump is an old, obese white man whose physical and mental
faculties are clearly in decline. He is angry, vindictive, but most of all
scared. If he doesn’t win on November 5th, and is unable to pardon
himself, he will spend the remainder of his pitiful life in prison.
Trump is a typical malignant narcissist. He is desperate for
attention and relevance. When he doesn’t get what he needs, he becomes a
petulant child, totally unfit to lead our nation.
ENORMOUS STRIDES IN JUST WEEKS
Ms. Harris is now ahead of Trump in nearly every poll.
Nationally, she is leading 51-48 percent. This gap will surely grow wider over
the next few months.
I believe I underplayed the word “excitement.” This is
exactly what is happening. In just a couple of weeks, this country has moved
from a feeling of apathy as our choices in November are no longer between two
old, white men. Now it is between an old “has been” and a younger woman whose
energy is infectious. Endorsements are coming in from multiple groups and
influential individuals. Most importantly, Independent voters are moving towards
Ms. Harris camp, and that is the change which will win the election for Kamala
Harris..
TRUMP IS FADING INTO THE SHADOWS
Even the press, which has covered Trump more than any other
politician, is backing away and focusing on the raucous rallies in support of
Kamala Harris and running mate Tim Walz.
Once again, excitement in an election year is less common in
the 21st century than you might think. The last time I saw anything
like this was in 2008 when President Obama won his first term.
