Bush 43, Trump, and the Overwhelming National Debt

Op-ed by TheWiseOldFart

Proving once more that Trump is a pathological liar, he created another unnecessary government agency and called it the “Department of Government Efficiency, DOGE.”

He claimed that it was his plan to reduce the national debt by more than two trillion dollars. He lied. It was an effort to take vengeance on men and women who are not loyal to his fascist plans for America’s future.

The truth is undeniable. America’s 40th, 41st, 43rd, and 45th presidents, all Republicans, are the reason the deficit has grown to more than 36 trillion dollars. This is what it looks like: $36,000,000,000,000.

The largest villains are George W. Bush and Donald John Trump. This is one of the reasons I consider them the worst presidents in history.

Bush failed to protect our nation and 9/11 happened. His failed fiscal policy, and engaging our nation in two unwinnable wars with lies and deception caused the Great Reception.

In just four years, between 2017 and 2021, Trump increased the national debt by more than 8 trillion dollars. A combination of personal spending, a ‘destined to fail’ fiscal policy, and a failure to lead in the fight against Covid-19 nearly resulted in a second Great Depression.

Only six months into his second term, Trump’s policies in 2025 are on pace to double that figure by 2028. Most of this situation is the result of additional tax cuts for the super-rich: our nation’s 813 billionaires and 22.3 million millionaires. Trump knows that fair taxation is a must in a democratic society, but Trump is a fascist and not an American.

It is a fact, agreed upon by 99 percent of all economists, that if our country revamped its 6,871-page tax code, and created a fair system of taxation for all, universal healthcare, and free, or affordable higher education could be fully funded. No child would ever go hungry in America, and no family, no veteran would be homeless.

Yes, it’s that simple. But America’s government is never simple, or even competent, It thrives on chaos and dissention. Doing the right thing will never exist in Washington in the 21st century.
