America Needs a Great Leader Now: That is Definitely NOT Donald Trump

America needs a great leader now more than ever. Although
John Fitzgerald Kennedy had his weaknesses, his actions as our nation’s 35th
President were nearly perfect. He displayed a willingness to do the right thing
as he faced many challenges, never doing what was easy or politically correct.
He was the last great president, and was taken from us far too soon on November
22, 1963.
You may think that I have lost my mind, but the man closest
to becoming great was a man whose ambitions resulted in criminal actions which
made people forget his many accomplishments. His name was Richard Millhouse
Nixon.
America is facing great danger and possibly extinction in
2025. Ours is a nation in both chaos and crisis, and to deny this fact is to
choose ignorance over reality.
Throughout my life I have been fascinated by the efforts of
professional politicians to place every situation in black or white. Their use
of antonyms is never ending. George W. Bush created “the Axis of Evil,” telling
the world that “you are either for us or against us.”
You see, my belief is that nothing is one or the other: other
adjectives are always applicable. Great leaders lead by example and by making
the right decision simply because it is the only right thing to do, and the
consequences be damned. A great leader carefully considers the implications of
his actions; never making a rash decision.
“W’s” declaration, “you are for us or against us,” was an
attempt to cover the truth. He and his administration lied to the United Nations,
Congress, and the American people when he claimed that the leader of Iraq, Saddam
Hussein, was hiding “weapons of mass destruction” for Al Qaeda. He attempted to
change the beliefs of others or at least create doubts. For some of us, this resulted
in a complete lack of trust in the man who was residing in our White House.
Trump claims that all immigrants are drug dealers, rapists,
and criminals. It’s true that a few criminals slip through the system, as they
do in America every day. However, most men and women who are in our country
illegally are simply seeking a better life for themselves and their families.
They contribute to our nation’s future, pay their taxes, and live according to
the law and self-imposed rules of decency. The situation has never been “all or
nothing.”
Our ‘two-party’ system is broken. Our professional politicians
are no longer “conservative” or “progressive.” Beginning in 1981, right-wing
politicians became extreme, moving towards fascism. Meanwhile, Democrats
abandoned their focus on the working class, placing their desire to win
elections ahead of the majority.
There are no absolutes with one obvious exception. Donald
John Trump is the worst thing to happen to America in its 249-year history. As Putin’s
puppet, he is hell-bent on destroying everything which placed America in
position to become a great nation. He continues to seek revenge on his enemies
while following the plans contained in his own fascist manifesto, Project 2025.
I may be old, the same age as your illegitimate president,
but I believe that only a patriotic American should be our president. That is
most definitely not Donald John Trump.
