Of course it was about unfair taxation and religious persecution, among other issues, but the primary reason was an adamant rejection of any form of autocratic rule: no dictator, no authoritarian, no monarch. However, as professional sports have become more of a huge business than a form of entertainment, the quality of ESPN’s television personalities has greatly declined. As I was channel surfing one day, I stopped while a man by the name of Stephen A. Miller was ranting. And that’s all it was. By the time I was in high school, I read the morning paper daily, primarily the sports section. By my junior year, one of my teachers made it a requirement to read the entire front page and more.
