Although the original intent was to ensure that the president would be chosen by the people, “one person, one vote,” the EC allows the states to choose our leaders. If you live in a “Red” State, and you vote for the Democratic candidate, your vote will likely be wasted. Just the opposite is true in Deep, “Blue” states. If you vote for the Republican candidate, you have wasted your time and your vote. Red states overwhelmingly vote for anyone with an “R” next to his or her name.
