For America, There is no Greater Disappointment Than the Fact that Trump Will Oversee our Nation’s 250th Anniversary

American still has a lot to learn. After 249 years of existence, the United States remains in a semi-permanent state of adolescence. The pattern is disappointing. When our country has a great leader in the White House, we begin to move forward. When he is replaced, his successor often moves America backwards. In my 79 years, it often seems as though our nation constantly takes one step forward, then two steps back. On July 4, 2026, America will celebrate 250 years as a nation. Trump and his 902 billionaires/oligarchs will tell you lies, claiming that because of our technological and medical advancements, we have moved forward. However, most of our nation’s 340 million citizens, at least those who are informed, will tell you that for most of those 250 years, we have been standing still while the rest of developed nations have been moving forward.
