What’s Next? The Dog Ate My Homework?

Image
Op-ed by TheWiseOldFart What we don’t know about Trump’s war on Iran. It’s a war. No, it’s not a war. We won, and the war is over. The war will be over soon. The Strait of Hormuz is fully open. The Strait of Hormuz is closed again. I will not extend the ceasefire. The ceasefire has been extended by 10 days. The TACO man is at it again. He has no idea what he is doing. WE, THE PEOPLE, DESERVE BETTER I have lived through 14 presidents and watched their actions with feelings of hope and trust. I don’t remember Truman; I was born in 1946. However, I watched some of Dwight Eisenhower’s second nomination at the Republican National Convention in 1956, and my interest in politics began. My opinion about most of our presidents can be summed up with one word: adequate. Only one of them can be called “great.” Sadly, I consider three of them to be the worst in American history, and Nixon is not one of them. I rate presidents solely on their accomplishments for all Americans and their successes or ...

The Pentagon and Trump Lost the Iran War, Failing to Accomplish a Single Justifiable Goal

Image
Op-ed by TheWiseOldFart Trump claimed his primary goals for his unilateral decision to invade Iran remain toppling Iran's government, better known as regime change, weakening Iran's military, security and nuclear capabilities and its regional influence, as well as supporting Israeli interests. Only one goal has been achieved: Trump gives his full support to his long lost twin, Benjamin Netanyahu, and the Israeli Army. For Trump, this is nothing less than another failure. For the American people, it is a costly error in judgment. Three-quarters of all Americans oppose any military action in the Middle East. TRUMP REMAINS A MAN DESPERATE FOR RELEVANCE AND A SINGLE SUCCESS IN A LIFE DOMINATED BY FAILURE Trump failed in the private sector for more than 40 years. Only by cheating on his taxes, and accepting assistance from Vladimir Putin and the Saudi Royal Family saved his business “empire.” His presidency was the least effective in American history. Between 2017 and 2021 his only ...

More Proof the Pentagon is Incompetent and not Worth the Money

Image
Op-ed by TheWiseOldFart The Pentagon: what is it good for? Apparently, absolutely nothing. Our military leaders live in the past and dream about what might be. They are out of touch with the real world, including their overrated “expertise” related to waging wars. Where is DOGE when we need it?. Fact: our military leaders have lost every war since WWII. Their entire organization is incompetent and wasteful, underserving of an annual budget reaching nearly one trillion dollars. Trump wants to raise it to 1.5 trillion dollars. Watchdog groups have confirmed that 50 cents out of every dollar goes to waste. Many of their expensive toys simply don’t work when used in modern warfare. ANOTHER LOSS IN IRAN IS IMMINENT, AND OUR SOLDIERS SERVING ABROAD ARE IN GREAT DANGER What upsets me the most is the fact that our military “leaders” are willing to accept orders from a self-admitted fascist and a draft dodger. Trump is not concerned about the loss of American lives, or the fact that his war is ...

Pentagon Loses Wars, Wastes Money, and Proves its Incompetence in Iran

Image
Op-ed by TheWiseOldFart Some facts about the current leadership in the Pentagon. Our military leaders have lost every war since WWII. However, each year Congress increases the Pentagon’s budget, although it was clear that they wasted 50 percent of their previous budget attempting to create the “ultimate weapon,” regardless of futility and waste. In 2026, the Pentagon received $961.6 billion dollars. However, the worst was yet to come. COMMITTING WAR CRIMES AND VIOLATING THE UCMJ I grew up watching every John Wayne WWII movie ever made. They increased my already profound feelings of patriotism. However, today’s military leaders are not actors, and their actions are far from noble. First, an important fact. The Pentagon is not bound by law to obey the orders of their Commander-in-Chief if those orders violate the Constitution or the Universal Code of Military Justice. Trump and Hegseth’s murders of more than 100 passengers on speed boats off the coast of Venezuela, are actions of nothing...

“I Love Spending Other People’s Money”

Image
Op-ed by TheWiseOldFart In 2015, as Trump held one of his first hate rallies, he told his cult, “I love war, even the nuclear kind.” He also told the truth for one of his very few times in his then 69 years: “I love spending other people’s money.” He’s doing a damn good job of wasting your tax dollars in 2026. TRUMP CLEARLY FAILED EVERY ECONOMICS CLASS HE FAILED TO ATTEND It was our third President, Thomas Jefferson who said: “Never spend your money before you have it.” In 2025, America’s income was about 5.23 trillion dollars. The national debt rose to $38 trillion. Trump’s War is costing taxpayers more than one billion dollars each day, and there is no money in the national treasury to cover that huge waste of taxpayer contributions. Do you think the super-rich, who benefit financially from wars, should pay their fair share? Trump is demanding Congress approve a 2027 budget of more than 1.5 trillion dollars. None of it will go to the American people, A huge part of that unfathomable ...

Want to Be Part of the Biggest Class Action Lawsuit in History?

Image
Op-ed by TheWiseOldFart Is it a war, or not a war? More importantly, is it Trump’s war or America’s war? Nowhere in American law is there a definition of “war.” However, the invasion of Iran can be defined, and to the average American, Trump’s unilateral decision to invade Iran was a declaration of war. Republicans on Capitol Hill refuse to call his decision an act of war. If it is a war, Trump must be impeached. This is a clear violation of the Constitution which reserves the right to declare war to Congress. If it isn’t a war, and Trump is wasting billions of dollars of taxpayer money, he must repay all 340 million Americans for his singular decision to attack a sovereign nation without provocation. It appears that the American people could take part in the biggest class action lawsuit in history. TRUMP MUST PAY FOR HIS BAD DECISIONS, DECISIONS WHICh ADVERSELY AFFECT THE AMERICAN PEOPLE For the American people, inflation, or “Greedflation,” is escalating rapidly. Ga...

No Good Reasons for War: “War is Good for Absolutely Nothin’”

Image
Op-ed by TheWiseOldFart Failing to read and understand history always results in ignorance and the inability to move forward, choosing to live in the past. Every individual must learn and grow every day they remain alive. Not learning this fact produces lives without purpose, without a reason to be remembered. COUNTRIES ARE NO DIFFERENT THAN PEOPLE The United States is a very young country. When compared to the nations of Europe, Asia, and Africa, America is still a “toddler.” If you don’t like that comparison, take a little time to read the history of our nation from its birth in 1776 until today. The freedoms and rights guaranteed by the Constitution are both the reasons America was once on a path to become the “greatest nation in the world,” and why in 2026, it is the most feared and distrusted nation on the planet. I blame voters for the demise of the once most-respected country on earth.  Over the last 249 years, mostly old, white men have failed to lead our nation bravely in...

Will Trump Start a War to Hide the Epstein Files and the Truth?

Image
Op-ed by TheWiseOldFart The truth. One word with enormous power: power great enough to bring down corporations, careers, and yes, even dictators. Donald John Trump has never told the truth once in his life, but he understands its power and fears the truth more than anything else in the world. Over the last 10 years, I read thousands of articles about Trump and his life of crime and debauchery. I learned that the crimes committed by Trump are numerous, vile, and of such great magnitude he should have been prosecuted 40 years ago and residing in a 6X8 foot cell today. His most disgusting crimes against humanity involve his 15-year relationship with a now deceased and convicted pedophile, Jeffrey Epstein. At one point, Epstein called Trump “his best friend.” It is fair to say that their only interest was a shared desire to find pleasure with the company of beautiful women, and the younger the better. There are limited records, but one speaks volumes. Trump was a passenger on Epstein’s pri...
