Two of “W’s” Biggest Mistakes and Most Harmful Crimes
Op-ed by TheWiseOldFart
George W. Bush placed our nation in two unwinnable and
costly wars. His lies and misleading allegations cost our nation dearly with
the loss of life and nearly bankrupting our economy. His lack of oversight for
Wall Street, and a failed fiscal policy of trickle-down economics, caused the
Great Recession.
However, a ‘knee jerk’ reaction to 9/11 resulted in two
additional mistakes and crimes which continue to harm our nation today.
A Republican led Congress passed bills which created the
American Gestapo, known as ICE, and the Unconstitutional Patriot Act.
On October 26, 2001, Bush 23 signed the Patriot Act into
law. We were told that it was an effort to prevent another terrorist attack on
our nation. However, it was far more nefarious. It allowed every law
enforcement agency in America to detain any individual suspected of a possible
act of terrorism, It also allowed these agencies to confiscate items found on
their person, in their vehicles, and in their homes. What it actually allowed
was the circumvention of Fourth Amendment rights which once protected our
nation’s people from “illegal search and seizure.”
The NSA and other government agencies continue to use the Patriot
Act to illegally listen to our phone calls, and take such ludicrous actions as
gaining access to information regarding material obtained from a library. For
all intents and purposes, the Fourth Amendment became null and void on that
dark day in 2001. This was the beginning of the American Nazi Party, and our
nation’s biggest mistake, Donald John Trump.
And, before you ask, I considered Edward Snowden a hero.
On March 1, 2003, Congress created a new agency. They
claimed that its purpose was to prevent terrorists from illegally entering our
nation through areas where our borders were unprotected. However, we already
had an underfunded agency called the United States Border Patrol. ICE is a part
of the reason domestic terrorism has become the greatest danger to American
life.
The truth is, ICE is a group of poorly trained thugs who
enjoy and support Trump’s efforts to ethnically cleanse America in 2025. It is
a crime that these hate-filled men receive our tax money allowing them to
torture and incarcerate innocent men and women, many of whom have been our
neighbors for decades. They paid taxes and performed jobs necessary to maintain
our nation’s businesses. They were not Donald Trump who pays no taxes, nor did
he accomplish anything of value in 79 years. He is the enemy, not men and women
who came to America seeking a better life for themselves and their families.
These are two of a long list of reasons why I consider
George W. Bush the second worst president in American history. He was guided by
the devil’s advocate, Dick Cheney, whose plans to divide our nation became a
reality.
In 2025, the government of the United States of America is
the most corrupt and incompetent in the world. They hide their failures and
their crimes under the biggest lie of all: “for reasons of national security.” We
have only ourselves to blame. An uninformed electorate is the greatest danger
to freedom and democracy. Most of the 535 men in our legislative branch possess
zero qualities and little or no experience in state and local governments. Six
of our nine Supreme Court Justices continue to violate their only purpose and
re-write laws, allowing them to conform to Trump’s dark plans for our nation’s
future.
On the right side of the aisle, those who call themselves “Republicans,”
blindly follow the demands of their party’s leaders. You know some of these
names because they are the worst of the worst: Moscow Mitch McConnell, Lindsey
Graham, Ted Cruz, Ron Johnson, Chuck Grassley, and others who only remained in
office because our Founding Fathers failed to place term limits on all three
branches of government in 1789.
Call, write, text, or e-mail your congressmen and senators.
They work for you, not you them. Demand the repeal of ICE and the Patriot Act.
Then order them to vote for term limits on both the legislative and judicial
branches. No one should receive a lifetime appointment which is nearly
impossible to be undone.
