Op-ed by TheWiseOldFart Midterm elections are less glamorous, less exciting, than general elections. However, they have an even greater importance than ever in 2026. On November 3 rd , the American people will vote for all 435 members of the House and one-third of the Senate. Pay great attention to this singular fact. In 2020’s historical election, a vote for Joe Biden was a vote against the worst president in history, Donald John Trump. Although President Biden became a very good, very effective president, most Americans simply wanted to evict our nation’s biggest mistake. A VOTE FOR ANY REPUBLICAN IS A VOTE FOR TRUMP The Republican Party began its demise in 1981, and completely disappeared on January 20, 2017. Op-ed by TheWiseOldFart This story sounds like a fairytale. However, there is no damsel awaiting her prince charming to take her away. Instead, there is an old, obese, schoolyard bully who is raping the treasury of the United States of America. Trump is living like a king while more than one-half of all Americans struggle to survive. Greedflation has resulted in a huge decline in the quality of life for most of our nation’s people, including yours truly. Three of the last four Republican presidents used their positions for personal pleasure, often watching television and taking long naps and longer vacations. None reached the level of waste comparable to Donald John Trump. Between 2017 and 2021, Trump averaged two trips to Mar-a-Lago each month, This continues today. When he’s not partying with his oligarchs in South Florida, he is golfing at one of his resorts, or opening a new golf course in Scotland. Op-ed by TheWiseOldFart I have been debating with myself about one issue for 10 years. Can Trump read, or does he simply choose not to read? I have finally come to a conclusion. It’s a combination of both. Trump does know how to read, as proven by his dependence on teleprompters. However, he lacks the attention span needed to read the Presidents Daily Brief, and will never read the Constitution. I think back to the first year of his first illegitimate presidency. A meeting was scheduled between Trump and Speaker of the House, Paul Ryan. The subject was healthcare. As Ryan began to speak, Trump lumbered out of the room. Ryan could hear the television in the next room being turned on. Trump has the attention span of a feral cat. It’s a sad fact that he has never read the Constitution. If he had, he would not be wasting such a large amount of valuable time of multiple federal judges and his own stacked and corrupt Supreme Court.
