Op-ed by TheWiseOldFart Like his Fuhrer, Nevada Governor, Joe Lombardo, has accomplished nothing for the people of his state, while lies, claiming successes which are in reality revelations of his support for millionaires and billionaires. Last year, Lombardo approved ads placed by real estate developers falsely claiming that with the increase in availability of new homes and apartments, housing costs and rental rates would be reduced. Less than 50 percent of all Nevadans can afford a new home. A large number of newly constructed single family homes are purchased by corporations who will overcharge their renters and make huge profits. Like the rest of America, in Nevada, it’s all about profits for the super-rich. I remain addicted today. On Monday through Friday, we watched the evening news. It was only one-half hour, and hosted by the great Walter Cronkite: “The most trusted man in America.” This is why it saddens me to tell you that CBS has become part of the “Magaverse.” JUST ANOTHER RIGHT-WING PROPAGANDA MACHINE First, CBS’ parent company, Paramount, owned by Trump’s oligarchs, ended Stephen Colbert’s late-night contract. Op-ed by TheWiseOldFart Two television broadcasts I never missed were “60 Minutes,” and “CBS Sunday Morning.” The Sunday morning broadcast is composed of positive stories about real people and a perfect way to begin a Sunday morning. “60 Minutes” was the only news show I watched because it was a hard-hitting broadcast which exposed the truth about people and things happening in our country and around the world. However, Mike Wallace is turning over in his grave today. My mother, brother, and I watched the CBS evening news every evening in the 1950s and 1960s. Walter Cronkinte informed us of the most important events in just 30 minutes. He was rightfully known as the “most trusted man in America.” The new editor-in-chief of CBS News is a woman by the name of Bari Weiss. She constantly reveals her position as a Trump sycophant as she heavily edits every major production from her network.
