The Week of June 2, Thru June 6, Was Revealing and Devasting for Trump and his Cronies
In June of 2015, Donald John Trump made a life-changing
mistake, and he will never recover from his folly. When he declared his
intention to win the Republican Party’s nomination for the presidency in 2016,
he surrendered all privacy and doubt, exposing the ‘real Donald Trump’ to
America and the world. He forever lost his claimed position as a New York
socialite. The party was over.
From that day until the election on November 8, 2016, he was
heavily criticized and even denounced by the vast majority of Republicans. History
proves that these same individuals revealed a level of hypocrisy not seen after
his illegitimate election. They bowed to the worst man in the world without an
iota of dissent.
[Susan Collins: The Maine senator wrote an op-ed in The
Washington Post on August 8 stating that although she is a lifelong Republican,
she will not support the party’s nominee – a decision she says she does not
take “lightly.” “Donald Trump does not reflect historical Republican values nor
the inclusive approach to governing that is critical to healing the divisions
in our country,” Collins wrote.]
[Ben Sasse: The freshman senator from Nebraska is the first
in the Senate to consistently and vocally oppose Trump, who he has said “does
not even know what the Constitution is about.” He urged voters to vote their
conscience in a post on Medium July 11, and has said he will support neither
Trump nor Clinton.]
[Lindsey Graham: The South Carolina senator told CNN May 6
that he won’t vote for Trump or Clinton. Saying he thinks the Republican Party
has been “conned,” Graham added that he doesn’t think Trump is “a reliable
Republican conservative.”]
[Mitt Romney: The 2012 Republican nominee has long openly
opposed Trump’s candidacy, telling CNN June 10 that his election could
legitimize racism and misogyny in America.]
Moscow Mitch McConnell was the leader of the “anybody but
Trump club” until the results of the election were posted.
The biggest story of this week is the end of the bromance
between Trump and his brother from another mother, Elon Musk.
On Friday, May 30, the two men announced the end of their
political arrangement in the Oval Office. It was a mutual ‘love fest.’ However,
that was in front of the cameras.
On Saturday, the exchange of vicious attacks against each
other began. Musk stated his opinion of Trump’s “big, beautiful bill,” a bill
which would make null and void Musk’s reported efforts to reduce the national
debt, increasing the deficit by 3.8-10 trillion dollars over the next 10 years.
He called it a “disgusting abomination.” His displeasure with Trump escalated,
culminating with a not surprising allegation that Trump is on Jeffrey Epstein’s
list of attendees at his under-age sex parties. It is common knowledge that
Trump and Epstein were close friends for a period of 10 years.
After Musk threatened to demolish rockets with the
capability of transporting American astronauts to and from the International
Space Station, Trump threatened to cancel all government contracts with SpaceX.
The schoolyard bully’s most recent threat focused on Musk’s threat to support
Democrats in 2026 and 2028, saying that “he’ll be sorry.”
Trump was livid when Wall Street traders responded to his
flip-flopping on tariffs. They attached a demeaning acronym to him: TACO: Trump
Always Chickens Out.
In Iowa, at a Town Hall Meeting, Republican Senator, Joni
Ernst attempted to answer questions about the contents of the bill and the
virtual elimination of Medicaid for the state’s most vulnerable citizens. Her revolting
response was: “We’re all going to die.”
Then there was a House Committee meeting focused on questioning
Secretary of Education, and wife of professional wrestling mogul, Vince
McMahon, Linda.
In a heated exchange as McMahon supported Trump’s attacks on
DEI, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, the responses were direct and McMahon’s
comments were indefensible.
“You're talking out of both sides of your mouth,” Hayes told
McMahon, who was attempting to separate Holocaust education from African
American studies within what she considers to be diversity, equity, and
inclusion programs.
Several House Republicans announced their displeasure with parts
of Trump’s “big, beautiful bill” after they voted for its passage. Their
excuse? They hadn’t read the entire bill. In other words, they failed to
perform the job for which they were elected. The guilty parties included Trump’s
most avid fascist supporter; Marjorie Taylor Greene.
The only word applicable to the first week in June is, “chaos.”
As “TrumpWorld” disintegrates, the number of voters
expressing regret grows rapidly. At this point, 139 days into another failed
and illegitimate presidency, Trump and his entire administration have proven
that they are the least popular and most incompetent group of politicians in
history.
