Ronald Reagan Would be Jealous

Op-ed by TheWiseOldFart

Later today, October 18, 2025, millions of true Americans will be performing the most patriotic act possible in a free country. They will be marching in the streets across America, peacefully protesting against the worst, illegitimate president in history and his many violations of the Constitution of the United States of America.

If I were not physically disabled, I would be proud to join them here in Reno.

Countries are people, and leaders of all countries have a single purpose: to protect and serve those people. In this country, when they fail to perform the jobs for which they were elected, it is the duty of every American citizen to exercise their First Amendment right and demand change by removing a tyrant from his or her position of power. Trump has proven beyond any doubt that his plan, Project 2025, is to end democracy in our nation and establish a permanent plutocracy/oligarchy in its place, supported by a fascist regime with himself as its Fuhrer.

But we must give credit where credit is due.

The demise of the Republican Party, the once Grand Old Party, and the Party of Lincoln began in 1981 with the inauguration of Ronald Reagan.

His ambition was the end of our nation’s two-party system, demanding that every Republican support his policies without dissent, regardless of personal beliefs and principles. The process of honest deliberation and compromise in Washington would no longer exist. Solidarity and conformity were mandatory. Thus began the creation of the American Nazi Party, which occupies the right side of the aisle on Capitol Hill today.

I would be remiss if I failed to include Reagan’s many other crimes against the American people.

Like all politicians, Reagan lied during his campaign. He made promises he never intended to keep. He was a better actor as a politician than he had been in Hollywood. He fooled yours truly and millions of others who were desperate for a strong and wise leader.

However, after he was officially our 40th president, Reagan revealed his true self. He began wars on the working class, women, the LGBTQ community, and non-Christians. His decision to adopt a fiscal policy of “trickle-down economics,” reduced the quality of life for the majority, and increased the deficit to an unfathomable level.

Today, Reagan would be jealous of Trump’s destructive success. However, Reagan lacked the support of a corrupt Supreme Court, and his desire to become a dictator never became a reality. Trump’s Nazi Party is attempting to hide the truth by calling today’s protests a display from those who hate America.

The truth is, Trump and his Nazi Party hate democracy and have already made strong attempts to repeal the First, Fourth, Fifth, and 14th Amendments.

These fake Republicans are also upset, knowing that three of the last four “Republican” presidents will be remembered as the worst presidents in history: Ronald Reagan, George W. Bush, and the worst of all, Donald John Trump.
