Is Mitt Romney: Trump’s Latest Ass Kisser?
Op-ed by TheWiseOldFart
In a recent interview, retiring Utah Senator, Mitt Romney,
had the following to say about Trump’s criminal indictments, and current and
upcoming court dates.
“I do. ... You may disagree with this, but had I been
President Biden, when the Justice Department brought on indictments, I would
have immediately pardoned him. I'd have pardoned President Trump. Why? Well,
because it makes me, President Biden, the big guy and the person I pardoned a
little guy.”
Earlier, he claimed that he remains a critic of his party’s
choice for the presidency, and denounced Trump’s criticism of our legal system.
I have one question for Mr. Romney: “Are you suffering from
dementia?”
PARDONING TRUMP WOULD CONFIRM THAT HE IS ABOVE THE LAW AND
OUR JUDICAL SYSTEM IS CORRUPT AND BIASED
Trump’s facetious criticism of our legal system must be
ignored. He is just another criminal who is angry because he got caught. He is
no better than a low-level drug dealer who is caught with an illegal substance
and laughingly claims: ‘it isn’t mine.”
However, legitimate criticism is mandatory. It is an
undeniable fact that the rich and powerful are never punished, and alleged
criminals who are low-income or poor receive maximum punishment. No sensible
American can deny that every part of our government must be reviewed and
restructured. Those in power hide their crimes along with the super-rich.
I have no faith in anyone in power, including the wealthiest
who rule over us in the current plutocracy.
Romney’s moronic suggestion would empower Trump’s fascist
supporters and escalate what is now the Second Civil War into a bloody and
murderous struggle to save democracy.
ROMNEY IS ANOTHER SUPER-RICH AMERICAN WHO WANTED MORE BUT
WAS REJECTED IN 2012
The time for Romney to say something was when he was
elected. However, he is simply another cowardly Republican who refuses to do
the right thing when his country needs him. He is another black mark on the
once Grand Old Party.
Romney’s true self was revealed during the 2012 campaign. He
was caught on tape making derogatory remarks about the men and women who voted
for President Obama, while begging for money from his wealthy friends.
[Romney told a small group of wealthy contributors what he
truly thinks of all the voters who support President Barack Obama. He dismissed
these Americans as freeloaders who pay no taxes, who don’t assume
responsibility for their lives, and who think government should take care of
them. Fielding a question from a donor about how he could triumph in November,
Romney replied:
There are 47 percent of the people who will vote for the
president no matter what. All right, there are 47 percent who are with him, who
are dependent upon government, who believe that they are victims, who believe
the government has a responsibility to care for them, who believe that they are
entitled to health care, to food, to housing, to you-name-it. That that’s an
entitlement. And the government should give it to them. And they will vote for
this president no matter what…These are people who pay no income tax.
Romney went on: “My job is not to worry about those people.
I’ll never convince them they should take personal responsibility and care for
their lives.”]
It is very easy to picture Trump saying those same words
referencing President Biden.
I’M SORRY TO INFORM YOU THAT THIS IS THE WAY ALL REPUBLICANS
THINK ABOUT THE WORKING CLASS AND THOSE WHO ARE LESS FORTUNATE
No one on the right side of the aisle is a more perfect example
of those who call themselves Republicans today than Romney. In 1981 the Grand
Old Party began their exclusive support of the super-rich and the large corporations
they control. Over the last 43 years their support for those who have no need
of assistance resulted in a huge increase in income inequality and the establishment
of a plutocracy.
Plutocracy: “A plutocracy or plutarchy is a society that is
ruled or controlled by people of great wealth or income.”
Not a single decision is made in Washington today without
the approval of lobbyists representing the interest of the 765 billionaires who
own the Republican Party. Trump and Romney are “wannabe” billionaires.
All fake Republicans share two traits: they are incapable of
governing, and they lie incessantly.
I do not like my country in the 21st century.
