To my Fellow Nevadans: Lombardo is Trump’s Brother from a Surrogate Mother

I live in Northern Nevada. On November 3rd, our
state’s people will choose the man who will lead our state for the next four
years. The governor’s race is between Republican Incumbent Joe Lombardo, and
current Attorney General, Aaron Ford, a Democrat.
Lombardo revealed himself as a tool for our state’s
super-rich over the last four years. His campaign tactics involve lies, paid
for by his wealthy supporters.
Expensive and professionally constructed ads claim that his
efforts have improved our educational system, made healthcare more efficient
and less expensive, and reduced housing costs for one of the west’s poorest
states..
Meanwhile, Lombardo continues to make false allegations
about his opponent, Mr. Ford.
If this sounds familiar, it is. Lombardo is another Trump
sycophant.
THE TRUTH IS LOMBARDO’S GREATEST FEAR AND HIS ONLY ENEMY
A little about my home. Nevada is our nation’s fifth largest
state, geographically. However, its entire population is approximately
3,310,833 in 2026. Ours is a state of great beauty with a diverse landscape and
very complicated opinions from its hard-working residents.
Living in the northern part of the state is far different
than in the south. Most Americans think of only one city in the Silver State,
Las Vegas.
Where I live, just outside of Reno’s city limits. We have
four distinct seasons, although our snowfall varies. Many winter storms fail to
have enough strength to pass over the Sierra Nevada mountains and create a
white blanket over the valley floor. Some years, the snow remains on the ground
for two or three months.
Politically, Nevada is considered a “purple,” or “swing
state.” For example, in recent elections, our Electoral College votes went to
Hillary Clinton in 2016, Joe Biden in 2020, and Trump in 2024. Our governors
have been Brian Sandoval, a Republican, Steve Sisolak, a Democrat, and
currently Joe Lombardo, a Trump wannabe.
As an Independent, I will tell you that since I moved to
Nevada in 1986, our state’s people were best served by Brian Sandoval. However,
Steve Sisolak performed his duties well, helping our large casinos in Las Vegas
survive Trump’s failures during the Covid-19 health crisis. Lombardo has done
nothing other than approve projects designed to make our richest citizens even
richer. This includes the controversial construction of data centers.
OUR STATE’S PROBLEMS CONTINUE AFTER FOUR YEARS OF LOMBARDO
The facts are undeniable. Nevada ranks 48th in education.
This number is down a couple of points since Governor Sisolak was replaced by
Lombardo. Our current system is a disaster and continues to threaten our state’s
future and the future of its young men and women.
My state ranks 41st in both healthcare and affordable
housing.
“To match the national per capita average, Nevada needs an
estimated 4,800 to 5,000 additional registered nurses and over 2,300 additional
physicians.”
I can attest to a personal experience and tell you that our
current healthcare is inferior and ridiculously expensive. It is also
fraudulent when I look at my most recent hospital bill. I was charged for
numerous services and days I did not receive.
Lombardo’s wealthy supporters paid for ads defending Lombardo’s
approval of the construction of large numbers of new apartments and single
family homes. In the ads, he claimed that “a larger supply of living quarters would
reduce costs.” He lied.
In Northern Nevada, 1986, employment opportunities were
primarily in the casino industry and warehousing. The latter was based on minimal
taxation, and the former, tourism. Both are in steep decline in 2026.
Wages are extremely low in the Reno/Sparks/Carson City area.
Rents and the cost of single family homes are beyond the capabilities of most
residents. This situation has forced our working-class citizens to accept
multiple roommates, and more than one family to live in a home designed for
single families.
The average two bedroom apartment in Reno rents for about $2000
each month. A two-bedroom, one-bathroom single-family home or small property in
Reno typically costs between $320,000 and $460,000, depending on the exact
neighborhood and condition.
My bride and I are thankful that we purchased our home in
1998, at a cost of $122,000. We could not afford a decent apartment or a single
family home today.
