On Thursday, January 9, 2025 America won two victories. Trump and Moscow Mitch’s stacked Supreme Court denied Trump’s appeal to halt his sentencing after being convicted on all 34 felony counts in the infamous hush money trial. On the same day, an Appellate Court denied a motion to keep the American people access to the Select Committee’s final report on the January 6, insurrection. Today, Trump will forever be known as a convicted felon. This criminal will be the first inaugurated felon in our nation’s history. This brings me to ask a question: “how far has our nation fallen?” We celebrated real presidents including Abraham Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt, Franklin Roosevelt, and John Kennedy. In January of 2017 a dossier composed by former MI-6 agent Christopher Steele exposed collusion between Vladimir Putin and Trump to secure a victory for the failed businessman in the 2016 election. This information was released just days before Trump’s inauguration. However, the document could not be substantiated by Republicans and it was removed from the media. Was this another cover-up by our federal government? Not one part of the dossier has ever been disproven. Multiple investigations by unnamed individuals appear to suggest dismissing the document. However, uncovered lies from Trump and a post-election revelation seem to suggest that the dossier was entirely true.       If you watched the violent insurrection on January 6, 2021, you cannot deny what you saw. Trump stood on a stage in front of the White House and ordered his Neo-Nazi army to march to the Capitol and halt the certification of the Electoral College vote. When they arrived at the Capitol Building, they broke down doors, smashed windows, and physically attacked the Capitol Police, killing at least one and injuring about 150. On that Sunday evening, the young man I had heard so often on the radio was scheduled to appear on the Ed Sullivan Show for the first time. There was one problem.
