How Low and Cowardly Can Right-Wing Extremists Become
Op-ed by TheWiseOldFart
Unlike Trump’s personal Gestapo, Neo-Nazi organizations, the
LGBTQ community is no threat to anyone, anywhere. They simply seek the same
rights guaranteed to heterosexuals by the Constitution.
So, let me ask you a question: “why should our government
feel it necessary to issue a warning to the LGBTQ community who will be celebrating
Pride Month in June?” Where is the time machine used to move America and parts
of the world backwards into the 1950’s?
Authorities warned US citizens abroad to "exercise
increased caution". Violence against the LGBTQ community across our nation
is also expected.
"Stay alert in locations frequented by tourists,
including Pride celebrations," a warning issued by the state department
said.
IN JUST FOUR YEARS, TRUMP AND HIS AMERICAN FASCIST PARTY
RECREATED AMERICA INTO A COUNTRY DOMINATED BY ANGER, HATRED, AND BIGOTRY
Prior to 2017, the worst of America remained in the shadows,
or in the slime at the bottom of cesspools. However, with their leader
pretending to be the leader of the free world, these evil and treasonous
Neo-Nazis have brazenly moved into the light. Some hold positions in our
federal government including Marjorie Taylor Greene, Jim Jordan, Tommy
Tuberville, Matt Gaetz, Ted Cruz, Josh Hawley, Lauren Boebert, Paul Gosar, and
every member of the House “Freedom Caucus.”
These are “Trump’s people.”
ONLY MORONS ATTACK WITHOUT REASON
Right-wing attacks on the LGBTQ community prove that these
fake Republicans are mentally unfit to hold public office. The 435 members of
the House and 100 Senators have only one purpose: to represent the needs and
wishes of the American people. Their personal beliefs, whether they be virtuous
or vile have no importance.
Our nation has serious problems, including reasonable
immigration reform, a growing gap in income inequality, voter suppression, the
least effective and most expensive healthcare in the world, the escalation of
domestic terrorism, sensible gun laws, extreme racism, homophobia, misogyny,
xenophobia, and religious intolerance.
Personal rights and the differences between Americans should
never have become issues on which our politicians spend most of their time: a
woman’s right to make decisions about her own physical and mental health, and
an individual’s right to love the person of their choice and build a future
based on that relationship.
THE FIRST QUARTER OF THE 21ST CENTURY HAS BEEN A
HUGE FAILURE IN AMERICA
For most of my nearly 78 years, I believed that the United
States of America was proud to be a country where compassion, understanding,
and acceptance were growing among all of our nation’s people.
Here we are in the 21st century, and those
virtues have been replaced with anger, hatred, and violence against other
Americans. America has become known as “the Angry Nation.”
I miss “my” country: I hope it can be saved.
