The Pentagon and Trump Lost the Iran War, Failing to Accomplish a Single Justifiable Goal
Op-ed by TheWiseOldFart
Trump claimed his primary goals for his unilateral decision
to invade Iran remain toppling Iran's government, better known as regime change,
weakening Iran's military, security and nuclear capabilities and its regional
influence, as well as supporting Israeli interests.
Only one goal has been achieved: Trump gives his full
support to his long lost twin, Benjamin Netanyahu, and the Israeli Army.
For Trump, this is nothing less than another failure. For
the American people, it is a costly error in judgment. Three-quarters of all
Americans oppose any military action in the Middle East.
TRUMP REMAINS A MAN DESPERATE FOR RELEVANCE AND A SINGLE
SUCCESS IN A LIFE DOMINATED BY FAILURE
Trump failed in the private sector for more than 40 years. Only
by cheating on his taxes, and accepting assistance from Vladimir Putin and the
Saudi Royal Family saved his business “empire.” His presidency was the least
effective in American history. Between 2017 and 2021 his only “accomplishments”
were granting additional tax “breaks” to the super-rich and large corporations,
allowing a deadly coronavirus to kill more than one million Americans as he
told us “it will just go away,” and a failure to lead which placed our nation
near a second Great Depression as the national debt rose and unemployment
reached numbers not seen since the early 1930’s.
He also managed to commit treason on January 6, 2021, and violated the Espionage Act with the theft of
an estimated 14 boxes of national secrets on January 20, 2021. Julius and Ethel
Rosenberg were executed in 1953 for the same crime.
Trump will never admit to his many, many mistakes. However,
Trump supporters can. Trump’s illegitimate presidencies are the biggest
mistakes made by the American people in our nation’s nearly 250 years.
It’s okay to do the right thing.
