Recognizing the Fact that the United States is the Most Dangerous Nation in the World, President Biden Works to Save Innocent Lives

It’s not a big thing for those of us who know that domestic terrorism is the greatest danger to the American people, but it’s a bigger step than any of his predecessors were willing to take. President Biden, who values human life unlike his opposing party, signed an executive order requiring comprehensive background checks for all gun sales at Outdoor Sporting Conventions which previously allowed unrestricted sales of weapons of mass destruction.

A POORLY WRITTEN AND AMBIGUOUS AMENDMENT

Gun nuts and the NRA gun lobby will be screaming about “Second Amendment Rights.” Once again, I call bullshit. The safety and security of the many negate the complaints of the 10 percent of Americans who own 90 percent of all guns in America.

The Second Amendment is the most ambiguous amendment in the Bill of Rights. Demands from slave owners forced several drafts of the amendment, and that fact is why it is so poorly written.

The facts are clear: nothing in the Second Amendment prevents a ban on military style weapons and high output magazines. Nothing in the Second Amendment prevents comprehensive background checks on all gun purchases. Nothing in the Second Amendment prevents our government from protecting its citizens from domestic terrorism, regardless of the steps necessary to accomplish that goal.

PRESIDENT BIDEN HAS THE COURAGE TO DO THE RIGHT THING

Reelections are the goal of professional politicians, and additional proof why term limits must be placed on all three branches of government. Our current President has the courage to do the right thing, regardless of political backlash, unlike most of his constituents.

Another undeniable fact is that handguns and military style weapons have no other purpose than to kill as many human beings in the shortest possible time. Therefore, their use must be restricted to members of law enforcement and our nation’s military. The truth is rifles and shotguns are far more effective if needed to defend your home and your family. Even the NRA cannot deny this fact.

IT IS AN EMBARRASSING FACT THAT ONLY THE UNITED STATES HAS MOR MASS SHOOTINGS EACH YEAR THAN DAYS ON THE CALENDAR

The definition of a “mass shooting,” is simple and fair: “four or more individuals injured or killed with the use of a gun during a single incident.”

The truth is that the media refuses to report most mass shootings. Sensationalism sells advertising. Therefore, they love stories when a mass shooting results in a large number of deaths. They ignore serious injuries, and those injuries are not exclusively physical. Being shot by a weapon of mass destruction can damage an individual’s mental health for the remainder of their lives.

“THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS”

I am disgusted that every time a mass shooting occurs our elected men and women in Washington do nothing other than offer “thoughts and prayers.” This is additional proof that our government is corrupt and dysfunctional.

American politicians choose to ignore the fact that they have a single purpose: to serve the needs and wishes of the men and women who vote for them. Instead, many of these useless men and women are more concerned about campaign contributions from the NRA and other special interests than the safety of all Americans.

We can change that. As long as we have an “American President” in the White House, your vote means something. Only we, the American people, can force change. No one should vote for a political party. We should all vote for the candidate whose positions on the important issues are closest to our own.

Election day is November 5^th. Mail in your vote or be at the polls on the most important day in the last four years.
