The Path Which Led to the Demise of the Republican Party

In 2010 the Republican Party was invaded by a political organization created by the Koch brothers, calling themselves the “Taxed Enough Already,” or the TEA Party. They were so extreme their policies helped to make our government incompetent. However, they were too “moderate” for many of these incompetent men and women calling themselves “Republicans.”

In 2015 a group of disgruntled men and women in the House created the most radical group within the GOP today, calling themselves the Freedom Caucus. These anti-Americans rejected any policy not their own, and fought not only with Democrats, they created dissention within their own party.

IN 2017, THE REPUBLICAN PARTY CEASED TO EXIST

In 2017, after Trump won the Electoral College in an election rigged by Vladimir Putin, both the TEA Party, and the Freedom Caucus, along with other men and women formerly called moderates, surrendered their dignity and citizenship to the man known as “the worst president in American history” by presidential historians, Donald John Trump. The entire right-wing can fairly be labeled “The American Fascist Party” in 2024.

I and millions of other Independents are now left with a single choice on election day. No longer do the principles and ideals of the Party of Lincoln exist in Washington. America’s government has a single legitimate political party. Honest deliberation and compromise are not a possibility.

Last year, 2023, Congress passed just 34 bills. For decades the average was between 200 and 600.

OUR GOVERNMENT IS KNOWN FOR ONLY TWO THINGS IN THE 21^ST CENTURY, DYSFUNCTION AND CORRUPTION

In 1981 our government began to change. Reagan demanded complete loyalty. All free thought and vocal opposition to the policies of one of the worst presidents in history were forbidden. Right-wing politicians were not allowed to discuss major issues with their brothers and sisters across the aisle.

In 2009, after the election of our first Black President, Barack Obama, Republican Party leaders, Moscow Mitch McConnell and John Boehner, stood before the television cameras, and told the American people, “our party will do nothing until ‘that man’ is out of office.” John Boehner is long gone, thanks to the Freedom Caucus, but Moscow Mitch has kept his promise for the last 15 years. He never rejected his racist attitude towards the man who became one of our most memorable presidents.

MOSCOW MITCH WILL BE REMEMBERED AS THE WORST SENATE MAJORITY LEADER IN HISTORY

In 2021, when Moscow Mitch McConnell was forced to step down as Senate Majority Leader, there were hundreds of bills gathering dust on his desk. These bills were never brought to a vote because they were opposed by Moscow Mitch. They did not support his views related to the future of our country.

Moscow Mitch won seven elections as the senior senator from Kentucky. This tells me a lot about the intelligence and loyalty to a single party in the Bluegrass State. Early in his career he was an advocate for coal mining. In his latter years he became an advocate for Russian oligarchs who created businesses in Kentucky.

THE OLD MAN OF THE SENATE IS THE POSTER BOY FOR ESTABLISHING TERM LIMITS

Moscow Mitch’s greatest crime occurred on January 20, 2017. Although he was one of the leaders of “the anybody but Trump movement during the 2016 campaign, on inauguration day 2017 he surrendered his morals, principles, dignity, and self-respect when he bowed to his Fuhrer. He happily pushed through much of Trump’s vile, destructive, and unconstitutional agenda.

As the principal leader of the GOP, Moscow Mitch, in collusion with Trump and his MAGA Republicans, created a completely dysfunctional government which has become the most corrupt in the world.

RIP, GOP. We hardly knew you.
