God’s Biggest Mistake
Op-ed by TheWiseOldFart
I admit to repeating myself. I have written similar articles
before. However, it is more accurate today than ever before that God, if there
is one, made one serious mistake. This one error in judgement will end His or
Her greatest creation, the planet Earth.
When I was a young man and learned about the tragedies
occurring every day around the world, how the most disenfranchised people in
the world suffered from disease, famine, wars, and genocide, I began to have my
doubts about the existence of a God.
I was raised a Catholic, attending Parochial schools for 10
years. We were taught the eight beatitudes. Two of them are why I began to
question not only my religion, but all religions and their belief in a
supernatural power who watched over us and cared for us.
“Blessed are they that hunger and thirst after justice: for
they shall have their fill.”
“Blessed are they that suffer persecution for justice' sake,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”
These lessons failed to bring solace to me, and forced me to
question everything I had learned over my first 16 years as a devout Catholic.
Did these beatitudes tell us that those who suffer the most
will not find relief from their torture until they die and supposedly go to
heaven? Is that fair, is it logical?
I formed an opinion which is more relevant today than in
1963: “God’s greatest mistake was the creation of mankind.” My belief has not changed
today. Truth be told, it has been confirmed.
The Old Testament of the Bible tells us that when God
created the earth and heavens, he felt there should be more. He or She decided
to create human beings, in His or Her own likeness. In a very short period of
time, Adam and Eve violated the only rule He or She created to test the moral
character of His or Her’s most adventurous and impressive creation.
This began the reality of what is happening in 2025. A
relatively small number of men and women are destroying everything which is
positive and benefits the majority of mankind. They promote prejudice and
bigotry, placing material possessions above morals, principles, and
spirituality. They constantly violate the Golden Rule: “Treat others in the
same manner you wish to be treated.” They violate God’s law every moment they live.
I have written several articles claiming that Trump is the “Antichrist.”
That is not entirely accurate. The last ten years have proven that the “Antichrist”
is a composition of many men and women who have amassed power over those who
believe in the teachings of Jesus Christ. Donald Trump is nothing more than
their false idol.
The question I am asking is simple and cannot be answered by
any mortal man. “If God exists, how can He or She allow the Antichrists to be
victorious over the good and loyal people who believe in compassion,
understanding, and acceptance of everyone, regardless of their race, ethnicity,
religious beliefs, or the color of their skin.”
I am one of about 100 million Americans who reject all
organized religions in the 21st century, I am misunderstood by
millions of others who claim to believe in organized religion and the teachings
of their leaders who stand behind a pulpit. However, my belief, my “bible,” if
you will, tells me that religions were created by mortal men, and are the
source of more suffering and pain than all others. I do not believe that
another human being can tell me how to live a life of spirituality. This is a
part of every human from the day he or she is born until they die. Sadly, a
very large number of men and women ignore what they know to be true.
Men are weak and easily influenced by evil and the worst of
human emotions and ambitions. Abraham Lincoln predicted the end of the United
States.
"America will never be destroyed from the outside. If
we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed
ourselves."
It has been slightly misquoted by multiple historians, but the
meaning has never changed.
I have no doubt that if there is a God, He or She is looking at how evil his beautiful planet has become, because mankind doesn't care about its obligation to be its caretakers, slapping His or Herself on the forehead and shouting, "What the fuck have I done?"
