It’s Called the “Emoluments Clause” and Trump is Getting Away with Constitutional Violations Again
Op-ed by TheWiseOldFart
Between 2017 and 2021, Congress, the DOJ, and a corrupted
Supreme Court allowed Trump to violate the Emoluments Clause for 1,460 days.
That’s every day he was your illegitimate president. Trump continued to
maintain control of his personal business interests, both foreign and domestic.
After four years, Trump’s business interests reported a 2.4 billion dollar
profit.
The problem is that no one cared that he was violating one
of the oldest entries in the Constitution. The frame workers of the
Constitution included the Emoluments Clause to prevent undo influence from
businesses both foreign and domestic.
No one, Democrats, or Republicans is concerned that Trump
violates the Constitution every day he pretends to be your illegitimate
president.
“As the US president fires thousands in the name of
preventing alleged fraud, he continues to spend taxpayer funds on his outings.”
This is from the Guardian.
Between 2017 and 2021, Trump used taxpayer money for his
personal use endlessly. He averaged a whopping six million dollars of your
money enjoying the life of a real billionaire each month. That’s 288 million
dollars wasted for his personal pleasure. In 2025, he is spending an average of
ten million dollars each month.
He is traveling to Scotland today, and the trip has nothing
to do with American interests, it is solely about his golf course. Trump has
spent taxpayer money to chase a little white ball through the grass and sand 43
times since election day. This one trip, solely to promote his newest golf
course, will cost taxpayers as much as ten million dollars.
[According to the GAO report, the hourly operating cost to
run Air Force One is just over $273,000, meaning the total for flights to and
from Scotland alone would be around $3.8 million.] Add to this the cost of
numerous secret service agents, meetings with foreign dignitaries, and various other
unnecessary expenses, and the total of money wasted could have paid for several
thousand federal employees who were unnecessarily fired by Elon Musk with the
approval of Donald John Trump.
Trump was blowing smoke up our asses when he claimed DOGE
was about reducing the national debt. He is the most expensive pretend president
in history. His “big, beautiful spending bill” will save his oligarchs billions
of dollars, but it will increase the national debt by as much as ten trillion
dollars.
Trump is like the pharmaceutical companies who promote drugs
they know have dangerous and even deadly side effects. After their profits
reach profits in the billions of dollars, they settle class action lawsuits for
a few hundred million.
The only reason all of this has happened over the last 10
years is because the government of all three branches of our government have
become corrupt and totally dysfunctional. Courage, love of country, performing
the jobs for which they were elected, and simply doing the right thing are
non-existent in the 21st century.
