A Few of the Many Reasons Trump Fears Mail-in Voting

Op-ed by TheWiseOldFart

The 2020 election was historic. I admit that the record turnout was more of a vote against Trump than a vote for Joe Biden. However, Mr. Biden turned out to be one of the most effective presidents in modern history, most notably in his handling of Covid-19, and his extremely successful fiscal policy.

Trump’s own election security czar, Christopher Krebs, told reporters that the “2020 election was the most secure and fair election in American history.” Aides claimed that Trump was also aware of this fact. His big lie was nothing less than an effort to appease his ignorant and uninformed supporters.

This week Trump promised that he will do everything in his power to prevent states from accepting voting by mail in the 2026 midterm elections. Why is he so afraid of this practice?

There are many reasons, but two stand out above all the rest.

First, voting by mail is far more secure than casting your ballot on a voting machine. It is nearly impossible to “rig” an election when voters use the postal service to deliver their votes to the registrar’s office.

It has become common knowledge that suspicion is growing about the results of all seven swing states in the 2024 election. Several tech companies have offered their opinions that the voting machines in those seven states were hacked by Russian agents.

Trump was the only candidate nominated by right-wing extremists in three consecutive elections. Comparing the results, knowing that the FBI confirmed that Putin interfered in each of Trump’s efforts to destroy America, prove that both the 2016 and 2024 results were fraudulent.

2020 added to the historical fact that larger turnouts result in wins for Democrats. This is the second reason why Trump is afraid to allow voters like me to vote by mail. I despise the Nazi in the White House. I am disabled and have other problems associated with old age, and unable to stand in line at my assigned polling location. If I cannot vote by mail, my Constitutional right is revoked.

This is what fascist dictators have done for thousands of years: eliminate the ways in which they can be challenged by their adversaries.

I think back to the 2024 campaign. I think about the staged, fake assassination attempt on Trump in Pennsylvania. If it was real, Trump would be dead and my beloved country would have been saved. The worst man in the world would be nothing but a memory, a nightmare.
