Donald Trump: The Poster Boy Proving Why Rich, White, Old Men Make the Worst Presidents

Op-ed by TheWiseOldFart

The two vices which result in good men becoming bad people are undeniably great wealth and great power. The very reason the United States exists is because one man, with ultimate power and wealth beyond imagination, made a final decision which was unacceptable to men of great morals, great principles, and a dream. King George III declared that the Anglican Church was the one, true religion of the British Empire.

The number of American Presidents is now 47. However, the number of American Presidents who performed their duties as described in the Constitution, and as expected by the American people, can be counted on just seven fingers. In my humble but carefully constructed opinion, they are George Washington, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln, Theodore Roosevelt, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, and John Fitzgerald Kennedy.

I rate these men based on their loyalty to their country, respect for all Americans, devotion to the meaning of the Constitution, and their efforts to increase the quality of life for all of our nation’s people. In other words, keeping their oaths of office taken on inauguration day. This is why only one man can be called “the greatest of all time,” FDR.

Placed at the bottom of the list, I believe the three worst presidents in history were and are Ronald Reagan, George W. Bush, and, of course the old man who will never lose his title as worst of all time, Donald John Trump.

Reagan began right-wing wars on the working class, minorities, and women, and was partially responsible for the unconstitutional influence of the Christian Religious Right in our government. He openly stated his allegiance to Christianity over all other religions.

Bush 43 lied to our nation and invaded a sovereign nation, placed our country in two costly unwinnable wars, and, like Reagan, gave his full support to our nation’s wealthiest men and women while ignoring the needs of the many. Bush also added trillions of dollars to Reagan’s national debt and left the American people facing the Great Recession.

Everyone knows Trump. He has intentionally divided our nation, destroyed nearly every advancement for the American people over the last 70 years, and has become a dictator with the assistance of his corrupt Supreme Court. He is the worst thing to ever happen to America, and should never have been allowed to defile the White House.

Finally, the truth is undeniable. Old, White men have failed our country for most of its 249 years. Reagan, Bush, and Trump were all rich and incapable of understanding the struggle of the working class. We were necessary; we had the votes.
