Moscow Mitch McConnell: Why the American People Cannot Trust Their Government
Op-ed by TheWiseOldFart
In 1985, Moscow Mitch McConnell began his reign of terror in
the United States Senate. He was 43 years old. That was 40 long years ago.
His constituents in the Senate began to learn who Moscow
Mitch was. He was fiercely loyal to his party, and especially to one of the
three worst presidents in history, Ronald Reagan. By the time he became a
second-term Senator, it was clear that he would literally do anything to
increase the power of the Republican Party.
The American people had no idea how much harm Moscow Mitch
could do to our country until January 20, 2009. After the inauguration of America’s
first Black President, the old man of the Senate stood before the television
cameras and created the most obstructionist party in history, the “party of no.”
He promised that his party, formerly the Republican Party, would do absolutely
nothing with the exception of ensuring that Obama would be a one-term
president. He kept that promise until he surrendered his position as Senate
Majority Leader last year.
His next crime/crimes against America begam in 2018. Trump
was impeached for cause by the House. However, Moscow Mitch openly revealed
that he would not conduct a fair trial in the Senate, guaranteeing the lifetime
criminal’s acquittal. He repeated the process in 2020 after the worst president
in history was impeached for obstruction of justice. Once again, no fair trial.
After Moscow Mitch displayed a level of hypocrisy I have
never seen before in October of 2020, breaking his own rule and conducting confirmation
hearings in the Senate for Supreme Court nominee, Amy Coney Barrett less than
one month before the election, the Court was stacked with right-wing extremists,
6-3.
The dream Moscow Mitch had since 1985 became a reality. On
November 24, 2022, a corrupt Supreme Court removed the rights of all American
women to make decisions about their own mental and physical health with the
repeal of Roe v Wade.
Only Trump surpassed the damage caused to our nation by
Moscow Mitch. The people of Kentucky are to blame. Moscow Mitch is now in his 7th
term in the Senate. We have been cursed with the worst Senator in American
history for seven, 6-year terms.
