I Have Had Enough: Haven’t You?

Op-ed by TheWiseOldFart

I thought I knew what to expect next from the worst man in the world. However, over the last couple of weeks, I am not only shocked, I have lost all respect, what little was left, for any and all members of the mainstream media.

Trump is literally getting away with murder. First came the firing of Stephen Colbert. There was no cause, it was simply a group of billionaires who own Paramount, the parent company of CBS, obeying their Fuhrer’s demands. Trump is too immature, and mentally deficient, to accept criticism, regardless of how major or minor that might be. In our day, he is my senior by three weeks, Trump is what we called a “pussy.”

Next came the assassination of a right-wing extremist who, like his master, Donald Trump, preached anger, hatred, vengeance and violence. Charlie Kirk hated everyone who was not pure white and refused to accept Christianity as the only, true religion. He was not discriminatory about his choice of enemies.

Don’t confuse my lack of respect for Mr. Kirk with my extreme objection to any form of violence, regardless of who is involved. However, I would be remiss if I was dishonest and refused to point out one irrefutable fact. Those who preach hatred inspire others to hate them. This is not a defense, simply a fact which today’s right-wing extremists fear more than anything else.

The third unforgivable action occurred yesterday. The Disney Corp suspended Jimmy Kimmel’s late-night talk show indefinitely. Their only reason, at least in public, is a benign and less than sensitive remark made by Mr. Kimmel on his Monday night broadcast. You judge the seriousness of his statement.

"We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it. In between the finger-pointing, there was, uh, grieving on Friday − the White House flew the flags at half-staff, which got some criticism, but on a human level, you can see how hard the president is taking this.

“Yes, he's at the fourth stage of grief: construction. Demolition, construction. This is not how an adult grieves the murder of someone he called a friend; this is how a four-year-old mourns a goldfish, OK? And it didn't just happen once. And then we installed the most beautiful chandelier. Responses you wouldn't believe. Who thinks like that, and why are we building a $200 million chandelier in the White House? Is it possible that he's doing it intentionally so he can be bad about that instead of the (Jeffrey) Epstein list? …"

For me, this is simply speaking truth to power. There is no intentional lie in his remarks. No one was harmed. There was no slander involved. The truth is that a few members of Trump’s 902 oligarchs are protecting the worst man in the world who is currently dismantling the United States of America, beginning with the First Amendment.

Someone, somehow, must stand up and unite our nation against Fuhrer Donald John Trump. He has been following his own fascist manifesto, Project 2025, and combining that with several of Adolf Hitler’s tactics in 1930s Germany to end democracy in America once and for all. The removal of two of his most vociferous critics from television was as Hitleresque as anyone could be. Hitler and his Nazi army became the sole source of information. Truth was rare if it existed at all.

Trump must be removed not just from the White House, but from our nation permanently. How about Guantanamo Bay?
