Tomorrow the Working Parts of our Federal Government Will Shut Down: Thank You Donald John Trump
Op-ed by TheWiseOldFart
To any American with common sense, it is obvious that Trump
supports a government shutdown. He is making an attempt to blame Democrats.
However, progressives/liberals do not control a single one of our nation’s
three branches of government.
One thing, which has bothered me since I learned about the
idiotic policy of a “debt ceiling,” Is how this punishes the only men and women
who actually work in Washington. Those responsible for failing to perform the
jobs for which they were elected or appointed will continue to live normal
lives.
Three unnecessary, corrupt, and incompetent groups will continue
to receive their salaries and benefits: the executive, legislative, and
judicial branches of our government. These are the most overpaid men and women
in our nation’s capital, living lives of luxury and privilege at taxpayer
expense, although they do nothing for all 340 million Americans.
I offer you one example of how unfair this bullshit is.
I cannot deny that the TSA, Transportation Security Administration,
is a completely incompetent government agency. I was an employee at LAX on January
5, 1973. I worked day shift. When I arrived at building 3 about 6 a.m. that
morning and walked to the departure area in building three, I was shocked.
Without warning, 10-foot-high walls had been constructed
between the waiting area and access to the aircraft. There were three openings.
Members of a private security company, Wackenhut, were searching all carry-on
luggage by hand. Inside the walls, metal detectors had been placed at the
actual doors allowing access to the airplanes on the tarmac.
Surprisingly, the longest delay we had all day was 30
minutes, and a part of that delay was caused by a small mechanical problem.
The TSA cost is 100 times more than our efforts in 1973, and
ours was far more effective.
However, the thousands of employees at our nation’s airports
responsible for your security will continue to perform their jobs tomorrow.
However, they will be working for free. They are considered “vital employees”
and are required to work by federal law.
The same rules do not apply to our federal government. They
seldom “work,” and nothing will be accomplished during the shutdown. This is “standard
operating procedure.”
America has the most corrupt government in the world.
