A Note to Donny Boy: You Can Fool Some of the People, but You Can’t Fool Me
Op-ed by TheWiseOldFart
I have an excellent memory. I have not forgotten that one of
Trump’s many unkept promises was to reduce the national debt, much of which he
created. He claimed that Elon Musk and his “made-up” Department of Government
Efficiency would immediately reduce the deficit by more than two-billion
dollars.
After the bromance between Trump and Musk ended on bad
terms, and although they had fired hundreds of federal employees who actually
worked in Washington, the national debt was decreased by less than 100 million
dollars. Musk and his “team of young boys” were paid more money than they
saved.
Over the last eight months, Trump has added to the deficit. Although
the national debt is nearly 37.5 trillion dollars, instead of addressing a
single problem facing our nation, many of which he created, he is spending
taxpayer dollars like a drunken sailor on shore leave.
Between 2017 and 2021, Trump used funds from the national
treasury to pay for his personal enjoyment, averaging about six million dollars
each month for a minimum of 288 million dollars over four years.
So far, between January 20 and today, your pretend president
has spent more than 80 million dollars. But that’s only a part of his wasteful
actions.
Each unconstitutional deployment of our military into blue
states costs between 10 and 20 million dollars, or more.
His ridiculous flagpoles cost about $50,000 each, according to
the orange buffoon. His useless and unnecessary ballroom will cost more than
200 million dollars when completed.
Trump’s excursion to Scotland for the purpose of opening his
new golf course cost taxpayers ten-million dollars. Trump is too busy to work
for the American people. He is living the life of true billionaire at public
expense, golfing, and traveling to and from Mar-a-Lago.
And, as he did between 2017 and 2021, he violates the
Emoluments Clause every day as he continues to sell junk with his name on it. If
the Presidential Seal is on anything he sells, this is another violation of
federal law.
Yes, my fellow Americans, your illegitimate president is
still a crook.
