Although the Government Can’t do Anything Right, I Can Prevent a Government Shutdown Once and for All

This is another “only in America” story which proves that
the government of the United States is the most corrupt and incompetent in the
world.
Democratic countries elect governments to represent the
needs and wishes of their people. Until 1981, America’s government functioned
in this manner, although in a barely adequate manner. Today’s pretenders are
entirely dysfunctional.
Every country must pass an annual budget at the beginning of
each year. The American government is unique, but, as always, not in a good
way. Every year, they must agree to a “debt ceiling.” What this means is that arguments
ensue based on political positions regarding which issues will receive funding
and how much that might be. Although a budget had been agreed on by both parties,
it meant nothing. “Politics is the worst profession in the world.”
That brings us to where we are today. A government shutdown
is in its fourth week. But it’s not a total government shutdown. Your corrupt
and incompetent legislators pick and choose which branches and departments will
remain “on the job,” and which will be forced to perform their jobs, but
without pay. This fact presents a solution which would prevent another shutdown
for perpetuity.
A law must be passed unanimously, and signed by the person
occupying the Oval Office immediately. The law must not be filled with words which
have no sustainable meaning, or exceptions.
I’m not that smart, but I have a high degree of common
sense.
“In the event Congress shall reach a stalemate related to
the funding of government supported agencies, and a decision is made to
shutdown the federal government of the United States of America, all agencies
and institutions funded by taxpayer dollars must cease to function or be funded,
without exception. Employees of those agencies and institutions will be locked
out of the buildings in which they were employed until Congress agrees to meet
and not to end that meeting until an agreement is agreed upon.”
This would prevent any and all elected or appointed
officials from receiving pay and benefits during a government shutdown.
As it stands today, the men and women who spend the fewest
hours performing their jobs continue to receive full pay and benefits, although
they are the ones responsible for the shutdown. The principals in all three
branches of our government, executive, legislative, and judicial, continue to
remain “employed,” although they are doing absolutely nothing.
As Will Rogers once said: “Be thankful we’re not getting all
the government we pay for.” Think about it.
Every morning, as I read the “news,” there is nothing new.
Our government is totally dysfunctional. I have no doubt that their collective
intelligence quotients are below average. I know that they care more about
winning elections than the quality of life the American people deserve.
Trump wanted this shutdown, and the reason is clear. He is
the most transparent old politician in history. If Congress returns to the
Capitol Building, Democrats will demand a vote to release convicted, and
deceased pedophile Jeffrey Epstein’s personal files.
Criminals and sexual predators fear the truth more than
anything else. Trump never met a lie he didn’t love.
