Hey, Grumpy Trumpy, the Question is: What Have You Done for Me Lately?
Op-ed by TheWiseOldFart
Of course, my title’s question is facetious. Trump has never
done anything for anyone else in his life. Afflicted with malignant narcissism,
he is incapable of having normal feelings of empathy and compassion. Trump has
proven one thing over his 79 pitiful and useless years on earth, he has a narcissistic
personality disorder that is highly abusive. People with this personality
supposedly get a sense of satisfaction from hurting others and may manipulate
people or lie to gain money, acclaim, and other things they desire.
Every human being asks his or herself one question, multiple
times in their lives: “what if I had taken the left fork in the road instead of
the right?”
As a political writer, having written thousands of articles
exposing the “real Donald Trump,” I look back at the 2000 election, the 2016
election and the 2024 debacle.
I begin with the 2000 election. Some of you may be too young
to remember the contest between Clinton’s Vice-President, Al Gore, and the son
of a former president, George W. Bush.
Al Gore would have been a great president. However, his
personality was nothing like Clinton’s. He failed to inspire younger voters and
others whose choices were based more on superficial aspects than substance.
George W. Bush was a recovering alcoholic and drug abuser
who had failed at everything in his life, including the ownership of a
professional baseball team. He presented himself as “one of the people.”
However, I always believed that any American president
should be exceptional. He or she should have a high level of intelligence,
experience in government, lofty principles, and a moral compass which is incomparable.
He or she must serve the needs and wishes of all Americans, regardless of the
race, creed, color of skin, sexual orientation, or their economic status.
The 2000 election would become the closest in history,
thanks to the existence of the Electoral College. The state of Florida’s electoral
votes would decide the outcome. It was clear that Mr. Gore would win the
popular vote, but ‘so what?’
Enter the Republican-dominated Supreme Court.
Florida’s voting commission had ordered a recount in Brower
County. Many of the ballots had small, but questionable inconsistencies, including
the infamous “hanging chads.” A recount was in process.
However the Supreme Court of the United States abused its
powers and halted the recount, giving Bush the win.
I sincerely believe that if Al Gore had become our
president, 9/11 might have been averted, and our nation would never have been
involved in two unwinnable wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. Gore’s fiscal policy
would have stabilized our economy, and there would never have been a “Great
Recession.”
Moving ahead to 2016. Hillary Clinton was the most qualified
candidate in American history. She was an “involved” First Lady, a United
States Senator, and Secretary of State under Barack Obama.
Trump had never served in government at any level. He was a “pretend
billionaire” who had failed miserably as a businessman. He was well known in
New York’s world of high society as a braggart, a low-level criminal, and a
sexual predator.
However, with the assistance of Vladimir Putin, the
mainstream media, James Comey, and a prevailing misogynistic atmosphere in
America, Trump won the rigged election, but lost the popular vote. Our
government knew about Putin’s interference, but refused to pass along that
information to the voting public prior to November 8.
Trump immediately began violating the Constitution, and
dividing our nation’s people. His failure to lead the fight against Covid-19,
resulted in more than one million American deaths. He committed treason on
January 6, 2021 and violated the Espionage Act on January 20, 2021 with the
theft of about 14 boxes of national secrets.
I believed that the name Trump would fade away in infamy,
but I was very mistaken.
After President Biden rescued our country from the
coronavirus, and saved our economy from another depression, he finally decided
that his age was a negative factor in July of 2024, and withdrew from his
reelection campaign. Kamala Harris would carry the Democratic Party’s banner,
but she only had about three-and-one-half months to convince the people that
she should be our nation’s first woman president.
She did well. Her message was clear, realistic, and filled
with the truth. The crowds at her rallies far surpassed Trump’s in numbers. The
polls revealed that neither she nor Trump had a confirmed lead over the
opposition. However, when the results of the 2024 election were posted, it immediately
became obvious that, once again, the election had been rigged. Comparing the
results of the 2020 and 2024 elections, common sense confirmed my suspicions.
Shortly after the election, major American tech companies issued statements offering
their beliefs that the voting machines in all seven swing states had been compromised
by Russian hackers.
As we all know today. Trump 2.0 is far worse than Trump’s
illegitimate presidency between 2017 and 2021. He is tearing apart our beloved
nation piece by piece as he uses the Constitution to wipe his humongous ass.
Let’s play “what if” some more.
If “W” had not been awarded a victory by the Supreme Court,
Trump would never have become a “four-letter word” for real Americans. Ms. Clinton
would have surely succeeded President Obama.
Choosing which fork in the road to travel changes lives. Most
people believe that the big things in life make a difference. I have always shared
that idea, but it’s the little things in every individual’s life which decide most
of the journey our lives will take. Just look at your own life and say, “what
if.”
