If You Believe that Only You Should have Free Thought and Free Speech, You Are Not An American

Saturday’s “No Kings” march was glorious and offered hope to all real Americans. The only problems in any city or state during the protest march, came from Trump’s “MAGA” cult. Trump and his ignorant supporters share one belief: if Trump says anything, he is right and everyone else is wrong. If anyone disagrees, they automatically receive anger and hatred. No one dares doubt the alternative facts offered by their Fuhrer.

Desperate to protect their master, Republican politicians called this action by millions of real Americans, exercising their First Amendment rights, “a rally by those who hate America.” Stop laughing: it’s not funny. I know Trump and his Nazi Party are not Americans, but they don’t. They live in a world of fantasy and envy.

Over the last eight-plus months, Trump has spent most of his time attempting to punish anyone who does not support his fascist plans for our country. This is childish, and reveals an insecure old man who is mentally incapable of placing common sense and reality ahead of his emotions.

For me, the most important right in the Constitution, guaranteed to all 340 million people, is the right of free speech. Free speech is the result of independent thought, and this often results in the creation of great change, and great leaders. Those who are incapable of free thought become joiners, looking for someone to lead them. They become ‘churchgoers,’ or join the political party once known as “Republicans.”

It's true that Democrats and Independents are not always united, nor should they be. Differences of opinion and the ability to examine situations and problems from different angles are signs of intelligence. No one on the right side of the aisle can be accused of being intelligent: they nominated the worst man in the world for the presidency three times in a row. Sad, so sad.

Trump’s lifelong affliction with malignant narcissism prevents him from being an intelligent man. Instead, his focus is all about causing harm to others and making himself feel relevant and important. He never has and never will possess these qualities. This single fact makes him totally unfit to be your illegitimate president.

I remember many dates in the history of America and in my life. I will always celebrate July 4, 1776, because this was the beginning of a nation which could one day become the greatest nation in the world. I remember the feeling I had on January 20, 1961, as I listened to the words of John F. Kennedy during his inaugural address. I will never forget my first kiss, or my first girlfriend. I remember the day Sandy and I first saw each other. I cherish every day which allows me the privilege of sharing a home with my wife.

Like most people, I remember dates in our nation’s history which were horrific and resulted in changes within our nation and around the world. These include December 7, 1941 and how the cowardly attack on Hawaii demanded our country’s participation in WWII. I was a Sophomore in  high school during the Cuban Missile Crisis in 1962. I lived in Los Angeles, and for 13 days I believed a missile armed with a nuclear bomb would fall on my head. I was returning from a run on September 11, 2001, when I saw my wife waving at me from our front lawn. What I saw on television was completely unbelievable. On November 9, 2016, I was awake but in a walking coma. The worst and least qualified old man in America had become your president. He would never be mine.

Two more recent events continue to have an enormous effect on my own emotions.

On January 6, 2021, my wife and I watched all three hours of the darkest day in American history. A sitting president planned, organized, and executed an attempted coup. His failed attempt to overthrow our government remains the saddest and most despicable event I have ever watched or read about in my life.

Thanks to a corrupt Supreme Court, Donald John Trump is defiling our White House today as he destroys democracy in America.

However, October 18, 2025, made me feel reborn. Millions of patriotic men and women stood up to the schoolyard bully and let the dictator know that he will never be accepted by the majority of our nation’s people. For every man and woman who loves America, Trump will always be known as a traitor, and our nation’s biggest enemy.
