If You Did not Watch All Three Hours of the Darkest Day in American History as it Happened: Shut Up

Editing is a clever word for censorship. Therefore, if you did not watch all three hours of the attempted coup on January 6, 2021, as it happened, you do not know the truth about what was undeniably the “darkest day in American history.”

Recently, I wrote about changes, and how even the slightest deviation from choosing the right path can become a choice which leads to destruction and even devastation. This is equally true for countries.

My wife and I, both retired, were watching television on a Wednesday morning, January 6, 2021, when whatever was on the television screen disappeared and the words, “BREAKING NEWS,” appeared. Trump walked up to a makeshift stage and began to speak to the crowd gathered in front of it. He rambled on and on, , as always, but the core of his message was, “I won the 2020 election, and you must end the proceedings happening in the Capitol Building.”

The old man had just executed an attempted coup. In the latter days of 2020, he began to plan and organize his attack on our democracy at the Willard Hotel, and this was the result.

His band of Nazis obeyed without question and soon joined others already in place at the Capitol. The violent insurrection began.

Carrying flags and banners supporting their Fuhrer, men and women who were loyal to Trump, and not to their nation, smashed windows, broke down doors, and fought against the Capitol Police as they invaded the building which housed our legislative branch in search of their ultimate targets, Nancy Pelosi and Mike Pence. They had orders to murder them. Meanwhile, they broke into the offices of Democrats, stealing some items, smashing others, and in what has become typical action by thugs and villains, defecated on their desks. All this was recorded by television cameras.

The melee continued for three hours as your illegitimate president and my wife and I, along with an untold number of other viewers were mesmerized by what we were seeing on our televisions. A sitting president, and his supporters, led by leaders of Nazi organizations including the Oath Keepers and the Proud Boys, attempted to overthrow our government and halt the certification of the Electoral College vote.

I constantly asked one question: “Where was our military, and why were they not rushing to the aid of our elected officials who were attempting to perform an action required by the Constitution?” Today, they are marching in our city’s streets, obeying the orders of a fascist, fake president.

After three, long hours, the obese old traitor appeared on television and ordered his Nazi army to ‘stand down.’

Now for the most important non-action of the day. Trump was allowed to remain a free man. This would never have happened in any other nation in the world. Anyone else, regardless of their stature, would have been arrested and placed in a holding cell immediately.

One last disgusting fact.

After Trump’s illegal and immoral inauguration on January 20, 2025, one of the first actions by our nation’s greatest traitor pardoned about 1,600 men and women who were clearly enemies of the State.

The fact that Trump remained not only unpunished for the most grievous crime against our nation’s people possible, the Supreme Court, his stacked Court, allowed him to run for the presidency a second time.

That singular action guaranteed the end of my America and the dream of our Founding Fathers.
