Paul Ingrassia is “Toast,” but Why is He Different than Pete Hegseth?

Trump nominated Paul Ingrassia to head the Office of Special
Counsel. This was intended to be a “watchdog” agency, but when Trump places one
of his like-minded cronies into any position in his administration, their purpose
is to rubber stamp his fascist agenda.
After members of both parties railed against Ingrassia’s
open racism and his own admission that he has a “Nazi streak,” knowing he would
not be confirmed, Ingrassia withdrew from his nomination.
Democratic leaders expressed their concerns in a letter.
"Mr. Ingrassia’s loyalty to Donald Trump over the
Constitution, his calls for imposing martial law and celebrating violent
January 6th insurrectionists, and his close associations with antisemitic
extremists all make it clear that he lacks the temperament, experience, and
fundamental constitutional fidelity required to lead this office," Reps.
Robert Garcia (D-CA) and Jamie Raskin (D-MD) wrote in the letter. "He is
not simply unqualified—his confirmation would pose a direct threat to federal
whistleblowers, the credibility of the OSC, and the integrity of our oversight
institutions."
This is a victory for all real Americans, but I would be
failing my promise to keep my readers informed if I did not ask one question: “What
about Pete Hegseth?”
When Trump nominated Hegseth for his Secretary of Defense,
the part-time Fox News personality was fully exposed.
The American people learned that Hegseth is not only
unqualified to lead our military, he is unfit to hold any public office at any
level. He is not simply an alcoholic, he is a raging alcoholic, having
embarrassed himself and others in public with multiple displays of drunkenness.
As the leader of a charity designed to support former members of our military,
he was fired. He had embezzled funds from the organization. His own mother confirmed
allegations that he is a sexual predator and a misogynist.
His actions as Trump’s “Secretary of War,” have proven
beyond any reasonable doubt that he is not only unfit to hold his office, he is
an arrogant egotist who is making a mockery of the Pentagon. Our failed
military leaders are bowing to Trump and Hegseth, and ignoring their oaths of
office to serve the American people and “preserve and protect the Constitution.”
I still ask a question which no one will answer. “Where was our ‘great and
powerful’ military on January 6, 2021?
Have no illusions: the government of the United States of
America is a fucking joke. It is composed of self-serving, mostly old, white
men, who don’t give a damn about the people, and the people ARE the United States
of America. They have become the most corrupt and incompetent body of
legislators in the entire world.
The dreams of our Founding Fathers have become just that. On
this day in October of 2025, I awoke, read the overnight news, and realized
that my America no longer exists and my nightmares have become reality.
