The Mainstream Media Doesn’t Even Bother Reporting Mass Shootings: No one Cares, Especially our Government

The latest mass shooting occurred in Montgomery, Alabama. Two people are dead and 12 injured, five of them seriously.

Since 2017, mass shootings have become a “national pastime.” There have been more injuries and deaths caused by the use of guns than from any natural disaster. I am tired of reading about these preventable situations. The NRA and their Second Amendment Claims are nothing but bullshit, and your government is too cowardly to do the right thing.

Anyone who claims that the sale of military-style assault rifles, high-output magazines, and bump stocks cannot be restricted, cannot be prevented from being sold to the general public, is a lying asshole. These men and women not only accept the idea of a rising death toll in America, they promote increased sales, knowing that the NRA gun lobby will continue to fund their campaigns.

The latest preventable tragedy happened in the capital city of Alabama, Montgomery, late Saturday evening.

When the melee ended, one teenage boy, and one woman were dead, and 12 were wounded, five of whom had life-threatening bullet wounds.

I was reporting for a Las Vegas based newspaper on December 14, 2012. I had barely had my morning coffee when my editor/publisher, called me. He told me to turn on my television. In just a couple of minutes, I had the same feelings I had on September 11, 2001. What I was seeing could not be real. It was too horrible to be true.

After killing his mother in her home, a 20-year-old man walked into Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut, armed with a military assault rifle and two handguns, and began shooting students and faculty. 20 children, none older than six years of age, and six faculty members were killed.

After finishing my article, my thoughts shifted to our government, and its unwillingness to say no to the NRA’s money. I firmly believed that this sad day would finally force them into action which would prevent a repeat of this massacre. I was wrong.

Between 2013 and 2024, there were 574 confirmed school shootings. That is an average of 64 each year. In 2025, anyone, without undergoing a thorough background check, can walk into a gun store, or attend a gun show, and walk out in possession of a weapon of mass destruction.

The shootings in Montgomery were committed with handguns. Multiple individuals involved were teenagers. Handguns require background checks. Where did they obtain their killing machines?

Fact: military assault rifles and handguns share one commonality: their only purpose is to kill or wound other human beings.

The government of the United States of America is the most corrupt and incompetent in the world. The men and women we elect do not listen to the people they are required to serve. Don’t get me started on our current corrupt and criminal Supreme Court.

Several years ago, a legitimate Director of the FBI, Christopher Wray, warned our nation’s leaders that “domestic terrorism is the greatest danger to the lives of our nation’s people.” No one listened to him either.
