If You are not an Independent Voter, You are not a True American
Op-ed by TheWiseOldFart
Answer this question for me: “why do political parties
exist?” The only answer I have is to encourage hard-working men and women to
donate money they cannot afford to waste, hoping to elect a man or woman they
likely know nothing about.
Voting is a right, not a privilege. However, with any right
comes responsibility. It is our duty to know the position on the issues supported
by every man or woman seeking our precious votes. Most voters fail this
responsibility.
Studies have revealed that most voters vote according to
what they see on television. This is moronic. All political ads during a
two-year-long campaign are composed of lies and misdirection. I trust no one. Therefore,
I feel an obligation to learn the truth about every candidate. I am an
Independent, and I take the right to vote very seriously.
Want proof that Independent voters are the only ones who
cherish the right to vote and accept the responsibilities attached to it? Look
at these names: Trump, Moscow Mitch McConnell, Ted Cruz, Ron Johnson, Jim Jordan,
Mike Johnson, Marjorie Taylor Green, Matt Gaetz, Chuck Grassley, Joni Ernst,
Rick Scott, and many more. All Republicans who represent “red” states.
