Similarities Between Trump and Hegseth
Op-ed by TheWiseOldFart
When I look at any member of Trump’s inner circle, my first
thought is “what was he thinking?” And therein lies the problem. Trump doesn’t
think. Trump obviously selected his cabinet, leaders of various departments,
and closest advisers based on how often they kiss his huge derriere, and their
support for his fascist manifesto, Project 2025.
Excluding the politicians who work in the Pentagon, if I
were a member of any of our nation’s military forces, I would resign. Trump is
a draft dodger who once called the courageous men buried in a French graveyard who
lost their lives in WWI “suckers and fools,” asking the question, “what was in
it for them,” cannot be allowed to claim the title of “Commander-in-Chief.”
His choice for Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth, was a part-time
Fox News personality. He was best known for his love of alcohol. His own mother
described him as a sexual predator. He was forced to resign from his position
as the leader of a charity serving the military after it was discovered that he
had embezzled money from donations. These were his only “qualifications.”
When Hegseth ordered all of our nation’s military brass to
attend a meeting, I was surprised, until I realized that he and Trump shared
several of worst qualities a man can possess.
Trump is a whiny man-child afflicted with a mental disorder
known as malignant narcissism. His highly inflated ego forces him to seek
constant praise and worship for his unfounded braggadocio. His many hate
rallies last well over one hour, not because he has anything of importance to
say, but because he has a captive audience forced to listen to his rambling and
incoherent mumbling.
Hegseth shares his boss’s need for relevance and importance.
When he gathered the leaders of our nation’s armed forces, it was for him: it makes
him feel important.
Trump authorized Hegseth to attack power boats off of the
shore of Venezuela with deadly force, claiming they are “drug runners.” This
allegation has not been confirmed. However, even if it is true, this is murder,
and no one with half-a-brain can deny it. It makes Hegseth feel like he is a
real man with great power and control over the lives of others.
Trump and Hegseth have reputations for the commission of
domestic violence. Any “man” who rapes, beats, or harms a defenseless woman is
not a man: he is a coward; a schoolyard bully.
Trump offered the world an insight into the real Donald
Trump in October of 2016 when the Access Hollywood tape was exposed for
everyone to see. He and Hegseth are the very definition of the terms “womanizer,”
and “sexist.” They share a belief that “the fairer sex” has a single purpose
for their existence: to serve the needs of men.
There is no greater embarrassment suffered by America than
the realization that the two men who are in control of our military are cowards
unfit for any relationship with our men and women who have chosen to serve
their fellow countrymen.
