Merger Between MAGA and CBS is a Disaster

I was a junior in high school in 1962. As my family always
did, we turned on CBS to watch the evening news every evening as we ate dinner on
our TV trays. Our small, one bedroom apartment did not have a dining room. There
was a new man sitting behind the news desk. His name was Walther Cronkite. From
that day forward, we never missed his broadcast. He earned his reputation as
“the most trusted man in America.”
In those days the only national broadcast networks were CBS,
ABC, and NBC. There were local stations in Los Angeles, channels 5, KTLA,
channel 9, KCAL, and 11, KTTV.
Our most watched networks were CBS and channel 9. Channel 9
had a slogan, “MAYFE,” Movies Are Your Finest Entertainment. Old movies were
shown every Friday night, including John Wayne’s westerns and his WWII movies.
I believe that CBS has been my favorite network all of my
life, until October 2025.
This was when Trump sycophant, Bari Weiss was given control
of CBS’ news division. A decision had already been made to cancel Late Night
with Stephen Colbert for no other reason than he was a vociferous critic of the
worst man in the world, Donald Trump.
The change was immediate, and it was obvious that CBS had
joined FOX News in supporting Donald Trump. The evening news, and 60 Minutes have
become heavily edited and the purpose is to protect the worst president in
history and his agenda for America.
LOSING VIEWERS AND LOSING ADVERTISING
Now, seven months later, this decision by CBS’ parent
company, Paramount, is hurting these billionaires/oligarchs where it hurts
worst; their over-stuffed wallets.
“CBS Evening News” with anchor Tony Dokoupil is now
averaging just 3.7 million viewers. ABC is averaging 4.9 million and NBC about
6.9 million.
A PROMISE TO ME THAT I KEPT
Because of the disparity in media coverage during the 2016
presidential campaign, on the morning of November 9th, when I realized
that the worst thing to happen to America in its short history was reality and
not just a nightmare, I promised myself that I would never watch television news
again. I refuse to be lied to and lies of omission are more dangerous than
blatant falsehoods.
It is of extreme importance that every true American
realizes that all major news networks are owned by billionaires/oligarchs, and
most of these 989 men and women are loyal to Trump, not to you, and therefore
not to their country.
A QUESTION WHICH WILL DECIDE THE FUTURE OF AMERICA
What is most important involves the collusion between Trump,
his oligarchs, and Vladimir Putin. Will other networks succumb to treason and join
our nation’s greatest enemies in the destruction of the United States of
America?
The answer lies in our nation’s people. Are you willing to
learn the truth, or will you surrender to Trump and his Nazi Party?
For me, the choice is clear. I am a patriot who will always
cherish the country I knew for most of my 79 years.
