Richard Nixon Ended the Un-American Military Draft: Trump is Bringing it Back

Millions of uninformed Americans continue to believe that Richard Nixon was our nation’s worst president. They are severely mistaken. History will prove that Ronald Reagan, George W. Bush, and Donald Trump are the there worst in history, in that order.

In 1973, a Republican President, Richard M. Nixon, signed a law rescinding the mandatory draft which forced young men 18 years of age and older to serve in wars declared by their government.

In 2015, Trump said: “I love wars, even the nuclear kind.” He will be remembered as a draft dodger, and for calling our men who died in WWI “suckers and losers,” asking: “what was in it for them?”

I’m sure you are a little surprised that the orange buffoon pretending to be your president offers his support to reinstate the unconstitutional military draft.

AN UNFAIR AND ANTI-AMEIRCAN PROCESS

The draft was never popular in the United States. Its original purpose was to be used only in times of national emergency.

It became extremely controversial and unpopular during the Vietnam War. "What the hell are we fighting for” became a chant which echoed across America. To this day, I have never heard a single logical or valid reason why our government decided to become involved in a war halfway around the world. We had not been under attack. What justification did our government have for sending young men and women to die or suffer debilitating injuries in a foreign nation few Americans had ever heard of? What I do know is that nearly 60,000 Americans lost their lives, and many more suffer from mental and physical injuries which prevent them from living normal lives..

No one I knew volunteered to serve in that war. Most of us feared that our draft number would be posted and we would be forced to fight in a jungle somewhere in the world. At the age of 79, I still remember my draft number: 4-97-46-463.

I enlisted in the United States Air Force on September 11, 1964.

TRUMP IS TAKING STEPS TO REINSTATE THE DRAFT

Beginning in December 2026, all men age 18-26 will automatically be registered for the draft. I’m certain that Barron Trump will be exempt. He will likely have inherited his father’s bone spurs.

America truly is the most warlike nation in history.

Although the mainstream media will never report the truth, The Bush family and his closest confidants including Dick Cheney, experienced huge increases in their personal wealth from the Afghanistan and Iraq wars. They were all heavily invested in the military industrial complex. War is good business.

WHAT I BELIEVE

No one cares what I believe, but Richard Nixon did. He signed into law the right for all 18-year-olds to vote. Like Nixon, I believe that if our young men and women can be sent to war, they should be part of the decisions made at the polls, and choose the men and women who will represent them in Washington.

I also believe that a federal law must be passed which gives all men and women 18 and older the right to drink alcohol and enjoy the benefits of marijuana.

What I do not believe in are wars. Stupid men, influenced by their personal power and desire for great wealth eagerly send others to fight their battles.

Everyone loses.
