The Promise Never Achieved by Those Who Succeeded Our Founding Fathers

Op-ed by TheWiseOldFart

The greatest weakness in humans is the reason why America has never been a great nation. It is the most common evil inherent to every culture, every race, and every man and woman claiming to be religious. Prejudice in its many forms reveals ignorance and the need to feel superior to others.

Prejudices including racism, bigotry, misogyny, and religious extremism prevent the most important promise in the first line of the second paragraph of the Declaration of Independence: equality for everyone.

A PREVIOUSLY INCOMPETENT GOVERNMENT IS NOW THE MOST CORRUPT IN THE WORLD

Our government has failed its people in many ways. A massive increase in gun violence began in 2017, could be ended with a single vote, and would in no way violate the Second Amendment. Our country has never demanded fair taxation. 95 percent of the 6,871 page tax code includes measures which allow the wealthy to avoid paying their fair share of taxes. As long as our nation’s big businesses continue to have lobbies influencing votes in the legislature, the majority will be cast aside on the floor of the Capitol Building. The Electoral College negates the value of millions of voters and their opinions every four years. People are not equal to the rights of the States. Women have been fighting for equality for 250 years. In 2022, when six corrupt members of the Supreme Court nullified a woman’s right to make choices about her own physical and mental health, they lost more ground. Minorities, Black Americans, Hispanic Americans, Asian Americans, Native Americans, and others, continue to be ignored. Their fight for equality continues. One half of our government and our people believe that Christianity should be the only religion in America, although it is in direct opposition to the First Amendment. The guarantee of equality for all religions, and the rights of those who reject all organized religion, are paramount to maintaining American values. Our government is divided by red and blue states, and therefore divided between the demands of a few and the right to equality for everyone.

THE 21ST CENTURY IS REGRESSIVE, NOT PROGRESSIVE

Beginning with the 2000 election, the United States began to move backwards, refusing to join the rest of developed nations. There is nothing in the Constitution which allows the Supreme Court to decide a presidential election. Tens of millions of voters were denied their right to equal representation. The election became purely political in nature.

Our government received confirmation that the 2016 election was under attack. Trump’s puppeteer, Vladimir Putin, was making a huge effort to ensure a victory for the orange buffoon. However, our leaders agreed not to allow this fact to be passed on to the voting public. Trump’s victory was rigged by our own government.

The fact that the mainstream media supported Trump, combined with the beliefs of young, male Americans that women were not equal to men, were major deficits to Hillary Clinton’s efforts to become our first woman president.

INDIVIDUAL AND HUMAN RIGHTS ARE NEGATED WHEN ANYONE IS DENIED ABSOLUTE EQUALITY

Freedom does not exist in a society where certain groups are denied absolute equality. This fact proves that our people are misled by our government constantly. This one fact proves that the statement, “America is the greatest country in the world,” is a farce.

Major income inequality refutes the lie that “America is the richest country in the world.”

Facts and the truth cause emotional and sometimes physical pain, but they cannot and must not be denied.
