A Side Effect from the Pentagon’s Lost War in Afghanistan No One Else Will Tell You
Op-ed by TheWiseOldFart
Your government doesn’t want you to know the truth: they
declared war on Afghanistan. The Pentagon doesn’t want you to know: they lost
the war. The mainstream media won’t tell you the truth: they are owned by
oligarchs who own our government. But, I will: it’s my responsibility.
When George W. Bush failed to capture or kill Osama bin
Laden late in 2001, he left our military forces behind, creating our nation’s
longest war.
When our military forces left Afghanistan in August, 2021,
our nation had lost 2459 lives and hundreds of billions of dollars. It was the
Pentagon’s 4th loss since WWII. However, the losses continue today.
HOW OUR NATION CONTINUES TO SUFFER FROM ANOTHER UNWINNABLE
WAR
After the final members of America’s military left Afghanistan,
its poppy fields began to grow rapidly. Today, most of the world’s illegal heroin
is produced in these fields. A whopping 85 percent of all illegal sales across
the world originate from a previous war zone, a war begun by the American
government.
To understand the whole story, consider this sad and
disturbing fact.
The Opioid crisis, caused by pharmaceutical companies aware
of the probability of addiction, and doctors who received bonuses for their
sale of medication used to relieve serious pain, became too expensive for the
men and women who were addicted to the drug, thousands turned to heroin. This
product, made from poppy seeds, is more available and less expensive. From 1999-2022,
deaths related to opioid addiction averaged 80,000 per year. This unbelievable
number is greater than all lives lost in Vietnam, Iraq, and Afghanistan over a
total of 38 years.
WHY WOULD OUR OWN GOVERNMENT HIDE THE TRUTH ABOUT
AFGHANISTAN’S INCREASE IN HEROIN PRODUCTION?
The federal government of the United States is as secretive
as other fascist and communist nations have been since the end of WWII. Instead
of answering direct questions, during nearly every occasion, the response is: “I
cannot reveal that information for reasons of national security.” The true
meaning is clear: they are hiding their own crimes and failures.
America’s government has become the most corrupt in the
world in a very short period of time.
