Congress is America’s Largest Domestic Terrorist
Op-ed by TheWiseOldFart
408 mass shootings in 2025. There have already been 349 in
2026. These are more “firsts” for America. Since 2017, there have been more
mass shootings than days on the calendar.
Just this morning, there was a mass shooting at Virginia
State University. On Friday, there was a mass shooting in Cadillac, Michigan. For
the 340 million people who live in America, this has become “normal.”
CONGRESS SUPPORTS DOMESTIC TERRORISM
Three percent of all Americans own more than one-half of all
guns in America. Personal ownership of weapons of mass destruction is
unnecessary, and the reason domestic terrorism is the greatest threat to the
American people in the 21st century. Professional Politicians
support these attacks with their failure to take action, and have in reality
become domestic terrorists.
Republicans falsely claim that “guns don’t kill people,
people kill people.” This is totally facetious and is no longer humorous. Facts
are undeniable.
America was a nation proud of its compassion, understanding,
and acceptance. During 2016, negative emotions of anger and hatred began to
dominate the atmosphere in American life. After the 2016 election, the Southern
Poverty Law Center reported an 800 percent increase in hate crimes. This
continues today, and the primary culprit is your illegitimate president who
began brainwashing his cult in 2015 with his personal beliefs based on racism
and bigotry.
LIES AND MISDIRECTION HIDE THE FLAWS IN THE SECOND AMENDMENT
During the Constitutional Convention between 1787 and 1789, the
most heated discussions involved the wording of the Second Amendment.
Everyone agreed that to protect the existence of an armed
militia, every citizen must have the right to own a rifle. However, slave
owners insisted on protecting their “rights” with the prevention of gun
ownership or possession by their slaves.
The result was not satisfactory. The wording is ambiguous, undefined,
and fails to include future considerations about the dangers of gun violence.
Second Amendment: “A well-regulated Militia, being necessary
to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms,
shall not be infringed.”
The words and use of capitalization vs lower case are
paramount in defining the intentions of our Founding Fathers.
The first four words complete the obvious intention of the Second
Amendment. The words “of a free State” add additional information. When the word
“State” is spelled with the use of a capital “S,” it refers to the entire nation,
not to a smaller "state” within the country. Common sense reveals the
truth. Without a standing army, America would need to rely on average citizens
to protect its very existence.
Common sense also explains the fact that the men who signed
the Constitution lacked the ability to foresee the type of weapons available in
2026.
Fact: both handguns and assault rifles were invented for a
single purpose: to kill human beings. Assault rifles were constructed for use
by the military, allowing them to kill larger numbers of their adversaries in
the shortest period of time.
The discussion regarding handguns will continue. However,
the use of assault rifles could end tomorrow if our corrupt government would
simply do the right thing and ban them from use by private citizens.
The truth is, one entire political party, and a portion of
the other, receive huge campaign contributions from the gun lobby calling itself
the NRA. Once again, profits take precedence over the safety of our nation’s
people. This is nothing more than hypocrisy and cowardice.
ONCE AGAIN, AMERICA IS THE ONLY COUNTRY IN THE WORLD WITH A
SERIOUS GUN VIOLENCE PROBLEM
“America is the greatest country in the world” is pure
bullshit. In a study of 15 developed nations, the United States is last in
quality of life. There are multiple reasons, including the worst healthcare,
and failure to provide higher education for everyone who wants it. It also includes
failure to keep our nation’s people safe and secure as they go about their
daily lives.
Personally, I vote against any politician who supports the
NRA: they are my enemies.
