Is Trump Really That Stupid?
Op-ed by

I offer you
a sampling of things Trump has said and done since 2015. You tell me: “can
anyone be that stupid?”
When in
France to attend a tribute to America’s fallen soldiers in WWI. “They were all
suckers and losers. What was in it for them?”
“I know more
than all the generals combined.”
“Windmills
are bird cemeteries.”
When taking
part in a discussion about Covid-19. “Have they tried drinking bleach?”
When asked
by the press and what actions he would take to prevent a major health crisis in
January of 2020. “It will just go away.”
After the
tragedy in Charlottesville, Virginia during a white supremacist rally. “There
were good people on both sides.”
When he was
asked about climate change, melting glaciers and the rising seas. " It will
create more oceanfront property".
Again about
curing Covid-19. “How about shining a bright light up your ***?”
“I’ll be too
busy making great deals to play golf.”
“You will
get tired of winning and beg me to stop.”
“I have
never done anything wrong.”
“You are all
fake news.”
"An old
fashioned term that we use - groceries. I used it on the campaign. It's such an
old fashioned term, but a beautiful term. Groceries. It says a bag with
different things in it."
"They
tried to bring back tariffs to save our country, but it was gone. It was gone.
It was too late. Nothing could have been done - took years and years to get out
of that depression."
"We
need Greenland for national security and even international security. I think
we're going to get it. One way or the other, we're going to get it."
When he stared into the sun during an eclipse.
When he marveled that "nobody knew that
healthcare could be so complicated."
When he addressed thousands of Boy Scouts with
a rambling political speech about cocktail parties and rich people having sex
on boats.
When he speculated that anti–police brutality
protesters were throwing bags of soup.
. When he
told a hurricane victim whose yard became the landing spot for someone’s
unmoored yacht, "At least you got a nice boat out of the deal."
When he hugged and kissed the flag.
When he drew on a hurricane map with a
Sharpie.
When he said a hurricane was "one of the
wettest we've ever seen, from the standpoint of water."
There are
many more, including lies about his war with Iran, but one lie stands above the
rest.
“There was
massive corruption in the 2020 election. You know I won it by a landslide.”
