The Entire Reflecting Pool Saga is Another Trump Failure

This story will be short. The facts are undeniable, and the truth is found in another failure by the world’s least successful man.

Fact number one: Obama spent about 34 million dollars repairing the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool. The job was completed during the Biden administration.

Lie number one: Trump lied again, claiming that Obama and Biden spent “hundreds of millions of dollars on the project.”

Fact number two: Since 2017, Trump has attempted to undo the many accomplishments of his predecessors. He decided to redesign the pool, “putting his name on it.”

Lie number two: Trump claimed the project would cost 12 million dollars. His folly is reaching the 30-million-dollar mark.

DETAILS ABOUT ANOTHER TRUMP FAILURE

Trump had a “better idea.” The science denier wanted to paint the bottom of the pool “flag blue.”

The pool is under the auspices of the Parks and Recreation Department. Any project under their control requires three bids by certified contractors.

Trump, being Trump, ignored the rule and gave a no-bid contract to a personal friend, John J. Cafaro for 12 million dollars.

When the project was completed, at a cost of $16 million, and the pool refilled, it was immediately clear that something was very wrong. The water did not turn blue, it could only be described as puke green.

Trump and his friend obviously knew nothing about science. The darker coating, combined with summer heat allowed algae to grow rapidly.

Following this mistake was an even more serious problem; the blue paint began to float to the top.

Once again, Trump being Trump, he refused to accept his role in the fiasco. He claimed it was the result of vandals. A former Olympian was arrested and charged.

Over the last few days, Trump’s own DOJ released the alleged vandal, claiming that the entire situation was the result of faulty construction. The Tyrant on Capitol Hill became enraged. Jeanine Pirro, a former Fox News personality and Trump ass-kisser extraordinaire, became the focus for his anger.

OVER AND OVER AGAIN

We’re back to where it began. The malignant narcissist and old man suffering from dementia, made another huge mistake. But, “he’s never wrong and has never made a mistake.”
