After 250 Years, the Worst, Most Corrupt Congress in History

Michael Johnson is by far the worst Speaker of the House in our nation’s 250-year history. Records prove that the 119th Congress is the most incompetent and corrupt in American history.

Yesterday, facing votes on issues exposing Trump’s incompetence, he gave his minions an early recess. They will not reconvene until the midterm elections are completed.

One of the issues unresolved was the impeachment of the historically worst Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth. The articles of impeachment were filed by Republican Thomas Massie, Representative from Kentucky. Trump was afraid of the outcome of the process and demanded the recess to prevent a vote. Politics as usual under a Trump presidency.

“DO NOTHING” IS AN UNDERSTATEMENT

Throughout our nation’s history, several Congresses have been labeled “do nothing.” However, none compare to Trump’s party and their control over both houses. Not a single positive bill which would have benefitted our nation’s people has been confirmed by both the Senate and the House. Why the hell do we pay them for doing nothing? It appears that every member of Trump’s government decided to join their Fuhrer and refuse to do anything but accept their paychecks. In case you didn’t know, Congress continues to receive their paychecks when the rest of our government is shut down due to their incompetence.

CONGRESS IS REQUIRED TO BE IN THEIR OFFICES FOR ONLY 100 DAYS EACH YEAR

Most of our nation’s elected officials do nothing and still get paid. Trump receives $400,000 per year and perks which add up to much, much more. The base salary for 435 members of the House and 100 members of the Senate is $174,000. Nine Supreme Court Justices receive $306,600 per year. The total is a waste of more than $12, 468, 400 each year.

Trump has not worked one full day during his five years and nine months pretending to be your president. As I stated previously, Congress is only required to perform their duties for 100 days each year, and the Supreme Court is in session from the first Monday in October until June or July. However, the Court’s session is not continuous.

Will Rogers said it best: "Be thankful we're not getting all the government we pay for."
