The Constitution is Clear: No Single Religion Has a Place in institutions Funded by Taxpayer Dollars
Somehow the current corrupt and biased Supreme Court almost
did something right. Eight of the nine justices heard arguments concerning “ Oklahoma
Statewide Charter School Board v. Drummond.” The issue was whether or not a school
operated by the Catholic Church should be allowed to use public funds to
operate a charter school available to all children, regardless of religious
affiliation.
The final decision was 4-4. Those involved in the Court’s
proceedings believe that the only right-wing dissenter was Chief Justice John
Roberts. When the vote of the Court is tied, the decision of a lower court is
upheld. In this situation, the Catholic Church cannot operate a school funded
by taxpayer dollars.
Justice Amy Coney Barrett recused herself. Prior to her
appointment in the Court, she taught at the Catholic school involved for 15
years, and is godmother to one of the director’s children. It would have been a
certainty that if she was involved, this religious extremist would have voted
against the First Amendment.
Let’s be honest. It is a travesty that Clarence Thomas,
Samuel Alito, Neil Gorsuch, and Brett Kavanaugh voted in favor of the Catholic
Church. Either they can’t read or intentionally faiedl to perform their only
job: uphold the intent of the Constitution. The First Amendment is very clear.
“Congress shall make no law respecting an
establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or
abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people
peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of
grievances.”
The first line in the Bill of Rights has been the
cornerstone of the Law of the Land, and prohibits the influence by a single
religion in the governance of our nation.
However, every right-wing professional politician in America
supports and favors Christianity, accepting its baseless claim as our nation’s
only, true religion. This began in 1981 with the Reagan Administration.
I won’t bore you with my background, and why I reject all
organized religion. However, I will inform you that the number of Americans who
share my opinion continues to grow and is currently in excess of 100 million.
