Hey, Donny Boy, Young Voters Don’t Like Dictators
Op-ed by TheWiseOldFart
It’s no secret: Trump is not the sharpest tool in the shed.
His economic policies have proven disastrous. On his report card, Foreign
Relations receives an F-. Trump is not a leader, as we learned during Covid-19.
More than one million American lives were lost, while he told us, “it will just
go away.”
What is most obvious, but goes unreported by the mainstream
media, is that Trump is a dictator. However, the New York Times recently talked
to younger voters who voted for Trump in 2024. Asked to describe Trump’s
actions over the last eight months, they called him “aggressive,”
“overpowering,” and “reckless.”
Mustafa, a 28-year-old Republican from Georgia, didn’t hold
back.
“The way that he’s been handling things recently,
dictatorship,” he said.
There is little remaining in the base for right-wing
politicians. The group Trump and I belong to, septuagenarians, is dying off.
Educated Americans reject Trump and his party. Trump is losing the support of
rural voters. All that is left are members of Neo-Nazi organizations, and
like-minded men and women who support white supremacy and fascism.
I believe that we, the people, who compose the United States
of America deserve better. At the very least, I believe that there should be a
patriotic American living in the White House. Trump is most definitely not in
that category.
