47 Presidents but Only 45 First Ladies
Op-ed by TheWiseOldFart
Trump has broken every rule, every law, and every custom
related to our 47 presidents. One frequently overlooked situation is of little
importance, or at least it was until Jeff Bezos placed a big, fat kiss on Trump’s
humongous derriere. He funded a movie about Melania.
First of all, Melania is not a traditional First Lady. She
is nothing more than a trophy wife, his third, and therefore his “First Trophy
Wife.”
She came to this country as a model, possessing a work visa.
Trump was currently unencumbered, without a relationship with only one, woman. So
he added another attractive woman to his trophy wall.
Like her husband, she has no value to society. In 2018, she
announced her personal project. She called it, “Be Best.” It was described as a
program designed to protect the rights and care for the needs of neglected and
underprivileged children. However, there was no effort on her or her husband’s
part.
My point is simple. I have experienced 47 presidents and
their wives, beginning with Dwight and Mamie Eisenhower in 1956. A total of 13
men lived in the White House since I was 10 years old.
Most of these white men, with the exception of Barack Obama,
were adequate, and a few accomplished more harm than good. Only three of their
wives left a significant mark on their husband’s presidency: Jacqueline
Kennedy, Hillary Clinton, and Michelle Obama. The fact that their husbands were
all Democrats is likely a major part of why they will be remembered, but that’s
not what this article is about.
Mrs. Kennedy brought a new level of class and a bit of
glamour to the White House. Her beauty and charm made her a celebrity. When her
husband was murdered on November 22, 1963, she displayed enormous courage and
strength.
Hillary Clinton was Bill Clinton’s partner in every way.
Although Mr. Clinton has a personal problem related to his relationships with
women, they agreed on most proposals to improve the quality of life for all
Americans, including universal healthcare and strengthening the Civil Rights
act of 1964. In his second term Hillary became a United States Senator, and
later Secretary of State in President Obama’s administration. She was the
Democratic presidential nominee in 2016, but lost to Trump in an election that
was clearly rigged by Russian President Vladimir Putin. It meant nothing that
she won the popular vote by more than three million ballots, thanks to the
unconstitutional Electoral College.
Michelle Obama remains more popular than her husband. Her
initiatives to help our children become healthier, and her efforts to support
our military families were her most notable achievements. When she spoke, we
realized her participation in her husband’s efforts to improve the lives of all
Americans.
What has Melania accomplished? Only one thing comes to mind:
saying “yes” on January 22, 2005.
In photo after photo, she appears extremely unhappy. She and
Donnie Boy no longer share a bedroom in the White House, reminiscent of the
situation in the movie “Dave,” and for similar reasons.
Unlike my feelings about her husband, the worst man in the
world, I have no feelings about Melania. She means nothing to me or 340 other
people.
I do object to the idea of a documentary about her and how
she reacted to Trump’s second illegitimate election in 2024. She has no
substance and no value to America or the world. She has accomplished even less
than her failed husband.
